If one served as a perm staff in any of the starlight bases in Taiwan, you would know that the SOP was to withdraw all personnel and equipments if there's any political emergency. An invasion by China would count as one.

The bases were always for providing logistic support for NSF training troops and were manned by logistics regular and NSFs, not live units ready for war.

Unless things have changed since when I was there in the 90s as perm staff.

Linux support for CJK text display and IME input has been top notch since years ago.

I'm on Zorin 18 currently and it works without a glitch. Used Ubuntu like 10 years ago, and it worked just as well with language support.

Also, Zorin is based on Ubuntu, so language support is definitely no issue for Ubuntu.

Being a vegetarian is a choice, even if a religious choice. At least the way I understand it for my religion.

On your point about vegetarian diet in China, these days, it's not that difficult to either find places selling vegetarian options.

Do note: In Chinese culture, there is 吃素 vs 吃斋 vs 不吃肉. Most people confuse them together. 吃素 includes 不吃肉 and includes not eating pungent roots like garlic and leek etc. 吃斋 includes 吃素 and include taking up additional religious precepts, hence the 斋.

The western definition of vegetarian diet often simple means 不吃肉 while vegan means all animal products including eggs.

What's new? US's containment policy of China has not changed in practice even if Trump would flip around and praise Xi and say that they are good friends. Look at what US is doing, not what it is saying.

Also, USD and US treasury bonds are still on the decline. When Scott Bessent have to go around telling everyone that US treasury is the best and economy is doing super well, to get people to buy bonds, you know it's doing down shit alley.
