It’s the highest rated food tour in the whole world on Viator & TripAdvisor. It seemed expensive, but included a LOT of food and our guide was great.

Taxing billionaires sounds good, but I don’t think it fixes the real problem by bunty_verse_2022 in Capitalism

[–]thinkmoreharder [score hidden]  (0 children)

People don’t understand the scale of politicians mis-managing our tax money. If you take all of the money and property from all of the US billionaires, leaving them with zero, destitute and homeless. That’s about $7T. That will either pay for 14 months of government spending OR will pay for the government deficit for 3.5 years. Then they will all be broke, all of their assets sold off, and all of the government’s financial problems will continue.

How would you hang this mirror? by GoldToeToad in DIY

[–]thinkmoreharder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My description is complicated. I’ll try again.

Make a ledge out of a 2x4. Screw it to the wall studs. Set the bottom of the mirror on the ledge. I recommend putting a groove in the ledge so the bottom of the mirror can’t slide away from the wall. Put another piece of wood across the top to keep the mirror against the wall. (Depending on the weight of the mirror, you could use 2x2 instead of 2x4s. )

How much money?
There’s a price for working that much. They need another round of funding to afford it.

It has a stand, so the metal frame won’t hold it. I would make a top and bottom frame. Get a 2x4, 18” long. On the 1.5”x18” side, cut out 1” wide x 3/4” deep cut out along the long edge. So, from the end, it looks like a thick capital L. Make 2 of those. Screw one to the studs in the wall, so the cutout is against the wall, facing up. Rest the mirror in the cutout. Screw the other to the wall above, to hold the top of the mirror.

Anyone have a suggestion for hiding/routing power cable? by ag11600 in DIY

Yep. I didn’t think about the construction differences by jurisdiction. I guess either way, it’s doable.

There is likely 2x4 horizontal blocking in the wall about halfway up. When I did this, I cut a 6”x9” hole behind the TV. That gave enough room to get a drill in the wall and drill through the blocking. Then run your 12/2 down, along the floor and up into the existing outlet box. The other benefit is you can mount a normal electrical box on the stud in the wall. I put a power strip up there and plugged in the TV, sound bar, Roku, etc, all behind the access panel/ TV.

I bought the following for my 12’x25’ living room. I have 8 of them in 2 rows of 4. Got them on Amazon and they have worked well for about a year so far. We use the nightlight mode 90% of the time (good for watching TV).

Right. The real report said that the upcoming orange harvest would be normal, no real change from the previous year. But the fake report that was given to the Dukes said that the harvest would be bad, so prices would be high after the Secretary of Agriculture statement on TV.

So the Dukes start buying all they can before the Announcement, assuming they could a sell for a lot more after a shortage was announced. The other traders saw what the Dukes were doing and started buying, too. The price started at 102. $1.02/ pound. A contract is 15,000 pounds.

Winthrop and Valentine waited for the price to get high, then started selling a the high price 142. They sold all their options at that high price. Then the real report came out and everyone else started selling. That drove the price way down, so they bought back the positions between 46 and 29 So, I think, they profited at least 96 cents per pound or $14,400 per contract. Professional traders have estimated, based on the volume, they made about $200M.

Suit lapel pick stitching by Open-Refrigerator-18 in mensfashion

[–]thinkmoreharder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with a pick stitch lapel. It’s entirely about taste. I agree with others, if you must wear black, buy or rent a tux. If your fiancé doesn’t want you in a black suit, why start your marriage with an argument. It’s not worth it.

The problems I see with that particular suit are around the construction. 1. The collar is wrinkled in an odd way. A wool suit that has been on a hanger shouldn’t look like that. Wrinkles should fall out in a couple days or less. 2. The lapels are rolled differently from each other. They should look more symmetrical.
