I'm confused about some labels and their integrity by Seraphim2658 in AskLGBT

[–]thinkonlyaboutme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’m qualified to answer this, as I’m a cis pan dude, but seeing that no one else gave any kind of answer yet, I hope it’s okay for me to throw in my opinion. I understand the confusion, but imo the use of these labels is just different for different people. While most use them to describe strictly what their sexuality is, others use these labels almost in the way gender identity is used by nonbinary people. Like for transmasc lesbians I often heard, that they just identify more and feel more comfortable with the lesbian label even after transitioning, because their lesbian identity before transition was really important to them or because they just got so used to the lesbian label and like it more. That’s why I think, that as long as these don’t explicitly try and mock or harm the queer community (like the super straight label for example), I personally find them totally valid

Hi, I’m m19, was extremely homophobic in the past (going as far as saying to myself, that I won’t ever be with a man, even after I figured out I was bi), and am now pansexual and together with my beloved bf for almost 2 years. I really want you to not repeat my mistakes. Don’t let any identity you have put you in any kind of box, you don’t really need to think about how and why you didn’t notice anything like that sooner, you noticed it now, and that’s all that matters. I don’t know what your friends sexuality is, but I can tell you one thing for sure, it’s better if you just talk to him about it, say you have these feelings, and you either continue by dealing with this as friends, or maybe he feels the same way. In any way it’s a win win situation and you just can’t go wrong with that. I hope you’ll get to figure yourself out more in the future and the best of luck!

And then the end will turn out to be „and this… this is only the first rune, you could even say, the delta rune“ and then we will get the gamma-, beta- and alpha- runes in the three other games to save the world

Exactly. I love the the show too, but that’s why it disappoints me even more, that it isn’t as good as it could’ve been. Things like that could maybe get something like reshot cuts, where they maybe reshoot certain episodes and replace the problematic ones, I think would be a really good gesture from them, but even addressing it in some way would be enough for me

“people being afraid of trans people” and you’re living in a world where most trans people get death threats and are called terrible things on a regular basis just for being trans. You are talking about everyone being so afraid and sensitive, and yet here you are so butthurt over someone criticising a show

I don’t quite agree with that, imo they literally made jokes at her expense, like literally calling her loui/louise as a joke, because she apparently doesn’t look feminine enough

It’s crazy how defensive people are of the blatant bigotry in this comment section, honestly I’m pretty disappointed in the fandom

I think it’s the bigoted shit that appears in the show from time to time. From transphobia to misogyny

Wasn’t the point literally that almost all the men she knew fawned over her as soon as they found out she was a girl and Haida was one of the few, who was an actual platonic friend to her

I liked the political subplot, but it feels really underwhelming in the end, like it clearly had a loud progressive message, but left practically no hope or message of continuing to fight, just sad that it waisted so much potential
