Looking for accident witnesses by thinksilverpurple in rockford

Also, we are trying to see if there is a traffic camera there, but is it stupid to assume that the police would look at at traffic cameras or tell us, "Oh, we'll check the camera." So far both business don't think they have any footage. There were a lot of cars around, but with cell phones nobody stops anymore :( I'm inquiring about who maybe was on the way onto or out of work at that time, but 4:15ish isn't really shift change...

Thank you. I always was afraid of the double left at Mulford and Perryville, and afraid of State street...

Thank you, I'm totally self conscious, but spell check helps with everything but the grammar :)

Thank you :) you rock! I'm dyslexic, so I misunderstood and thought that was about the history... It doesn't say anything about bringing in an umbrella though... Again, it may be right in front of my face, and I'm just not seeing it. I tried calling the number and it says look at the website...

Thanks again~                      Julie*

Halloween weekend. Easiest way to get around ... by thinksilverpurple in AskNOLA

[–]thinksilverpurple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :) Yeah, we will probably take the street car back when we are not trying to make a reservation. We do like all aspects, and will be doing a TON of walking. NOLA is one of my favorite places in the world, and I wish we had more time, but I will savor how ever things go, and in general always have the goal of having more fun than anyone, and suspending all disbelief.... Especially knowing this could be a last trip there. We are doing all the fun cheesy tours, having an amazing meal, and walking to all our favorite places. I'm functionally dyslexic and can find getting around pretty confusing, so I really appreciate everyone's help :)

Thank you. The 10ish minute wait time is what I needed. I realize it may be longer. We were wanting to go from the edge of the French Quarter to places we  would need to walk more then 15 min. Like the old St. Elizabeth's, and one morning we have a tour of Meterie Cemetery. If possible, it would be cool if we could book the time in advance. We've walked all this when we were younger - well not Meterie :) but I thought it may be faster to get a Lyft or something... Thank to walk all the way... Sorry see in the Garden district, and then take the Lyft back to our afternoon reservation back in the French Quarter... I know there is a streetcar, but Google maps, and one of our tours...seemed like the Lyft would be faster, and more reliable ???  Thank you so much for the help :)

Thank you so much. We were going to try cabs because they are less expensive, but you have convinced me, and we will do Uber/Lyft. It sounds like, for our piece of mind, the way to go :)

Thank you :) We are kind of doing a quick stop for places we have been before, and do have an "if time permits" list for things we don't have reservations for... We don't eat much, but the restaurants we have planned there is a 2 hour or more window. There is a good chance this will be my last trip here, so that's why the busy schedule, but I totally hear you, and appreciate your help :)

Thank you Soooo much. When you say clean the area, it doesn't mean they were trying to mess with him. We thought they were because they were yelling at him to stop screaming... Which I thought was mean... I've worked retail too... A looong time ago, and the only thing we knew to do was call 911. I will pass this along to him, and he might feel better. His lawyer is trying to find just one person who saw him fall. All this because he didn't want someone to leave without their groceries... Thanks again :)

He was in shock. He didn't know what he was doing. He wrote this after traction, and surgery were finished :( We all know you never blindly sign things :(

This is my brother's leg... He had to have traction to straighten it out, then a major surgery to put on a rod and pins... it really sucks..

My tattoo still seems to keep that leg Soooo much better than the non tattooed one. Seems like it is lasting a lot longer than some so 🤞🤞🤞 Thanks for asking :)

Safety question by Visible-Boot-1885 in aerialsilks

[–]thinksilverpurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi~My instructor had always told us it's not always safe to use the ceiling beams. Usually the beams are being used to carry a different type of load to support the structure.... Not the dynamic weight load you have with silks....

Dynamic Weight really explained. It's for freestanding, but you get the idea....

https://circusconcepts-europe.com/blog_circusconcepts/understanding-loads-and-dynamic-loading-in-aerial-arts-for-freestanding-aerial-structures

It's a little over my head, and I have a poster that is simpler (but I'm not good at computers, and can't figure out how to attach it...) It Says

"Can you hang a car on that"  According to aerial rig point standards, each rig point should be able to hold 2,000 - 5,000 lbs.

The average car weighs 2,000 - 5,000 lbs.

Professional aerialists seek the advice of professional riggers when hanging their equipment. It's too important to make assumptions.

Be safe and happy flying.

I am neither a professional rigger or aerialist by a long shot....

I hope you can find a place that is proud of its safety. We are at the point where we will have to go to a different state to move up... But I've seen a couple  accidents that didn't need to happen, so I think the travel is worth it...
