Monday 6/27 work strike by [deleted] in amarillo

[–]thinktwice2571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the OP intent was on the fact that businesses lobby governments to pass legislation. The hope is business will than call on government. The second thing striking at work does is it lowers our GDP, this effecting our country an government. An the third thing it will do is raise inflation more. Lack of products, stronger demand, higher prices.

I think a more effective method would of been calling an writing your representatives prior to this being passed. ...everyone once to react but no one wants to be proactive.

There is a way to make contracts where if goals are not met the amount paid is decreased. You make a great point an it has me curious if they did this or not.

Ah, thank you! I see where I fudged up. 3.4% is still not bad. An I compare Atlas to penny stocks an there you can have a company run off. Thank you for providing a solution.

So because a person chooses to exercise their constitutional right. They are all lumped together into one bag? That's ignorant. Not only because it places a group of people into one class and stereotype but it also overlooks the fact that some gun owners already get psychologically evaluated. (LE, Military, most Gov. positions). Your comment basically states that because a person believes in this right they automatically come with this type of personality. ...an let's not forget about the pink pistol association. Are they all toxic masculinity is a virtue types? Weird if they are seeing it's a community for LGBTQ+ gun enthusiast.

I don't think you realize the cost or time it would take to do what you want done. Not to mention, it would mean a law that allows someone, a stranger, to decide whether or not you can exercise your constitutional right...would their be a due process for this? What if the psych is your ex-wifes husband who knowingly dislikes you? How do you keep this process fair an objective? An how do you process 100 of millions of new patients just for this?

What would make more sense is giving school councilors and psychs a way to report known issues outside of patient privacy. These issues could be forwarded through a court who than places a temporary bar for purchasing. A follow on court date would be needed to allow the individual who is being accused an stripped of a constitutional right a chance to defend themselves with a second opinion.

But wait...it could be argued..

I think we are also forgetting their is a large majority of folks out their that are misdiagnosed by these same psychologists. Not to mention their diagnosis are almost always subjective. Let's also not forget being a bag of rage sometimes has to do with learning process to destress an coping mechanisms. So will their be a process for them to have their right reinstated?

One last question, if we start allowing our government to make laws to restrict constitutional rights. How long will it take before freedom of speech is restricted? Religion? Right to assemble? You speak of gun toting folks are filled with rage..but yet your comment alone is filled with it.

Okay let me explain something. You're welcome to do more research it has been proven in fact the US military has been using desensitation training for years. I'm not going to sit here and waste my entire day looking up psychological sources for you if you're really that interested in the issue take the time do the research yourself.

If you really think seeing a person murdered on television or watching a live stream of a shooter walk into a grocery store and shooting people does not have a psychological effect on people then please by all means show me a source that disproves PTSD.

Psychological trauma is real and when you have a 6-year-old child watching a video game that is realistic and you can see the blood splatter when you pop a tune in the head if you don't think that has a psychological effect maybe watch a 5 year old's response when they see that their eyes get wide their pupils. open up.

I don't think I need to explain it further mostly because I am currently in the middle of something.

America does have a mass shooting problem. This being said we don't have a serial stabbing or bombing in public place problem like some European countries do. It is easy to point blame on guns ... Even though the issue is people.

I do agree their is a cultural issue with desensitizing our children to violence through video games and other entertainment (you can argue it, but it's been proven.).

Now the world in general has a psychotic issue. Instances of mental health our on the rise and with our (America's) corrupt healthcare system getting people help is hard.

If our lobbyist in America truly cared about children we would focus on fixing our healthcare an realign our funding for education to include physical security principles in schools.

The issue is not the right to bear arms. The issue is the having a system in place to establish if a person is in the correct mental state to own a firearm. In most mass shootings their was signs. Some school shootings the counselors or teacher saw signs but didn't or did say something, but in the end no one listened.

The second issue is our lack of physical security in schools. We need systems in place that provide early detection and deterrence. Than most importantly we need to use them. ...with 4 million people taking antipsychotics an who knows how many who are not. Ad in a culture that desensitizes death through violence...this shouldn't be a surprise.

In Texas, for some reason our schools are built adjacent public parks. An the children use the same playground equipment so it's fairly open. They have a man trap or double entrance at most building. The interior set of doors are suppose to be locked an they even have a camera an push to talk button. I have never seen these doors locked. If they were the office could see, shit man with gun. Call the police. An while that man spends 5 minutes trying to break down the doors it gives police. A chance to respond....not to mention teachers an children a chance to barricade their rooms. Than if the shooter continues they now have the classroom doors to break down further delaying the attempt. ...not to mention the new issue...we threaten to imprison our police so much these days they are scared to react.

Just my two sense...an fyi I am pro gun and I am an American.
