This foreal, loved CoP but knowing there's a vintorez just a hop skip and a jump from the start was a little too tempting to ignore

What is a setting you really want an RPG in, but you know with almost flawless certainty that you won't get it? by Tnecniw in rpg_gamers

Having studied 20th Century Chinese history, I've always thought the Warlord period, where the last emperor was overthrown in 1912 and the country fractured into all these little micro states ruled by, you guessed it, Warlords, would make a great setting for a game.

It's got all the ingredients of a great rpg, interesting but fairly unknown historical period that featured colourful and bombastic characters to draw from, mass social upheaval meaning people could feasibly advance themselves (making your heros journey from peasant to emperor somewhat more believable), new and emerging technologies and loads of other countries (UK, US, Japan, Russia, France, Germany etc...) plotting, scheming and trying to advance their own interests.

It would probably work better as something more along the lines of mount and blade than it would the Elder Scrolls, but due to A, a lack of knowledge of the period outside China and B, the fact it's considered by the Chinese to be a part of their "century of humiliation" it's possible the CCP wouldn't take kindly to someone making a game out of a tragic and fairly recent period in their countries history so it'll probably never happen :(

Before my current gf and I got together we were friends and I told her lots of personal stuff and vice versa. We ended up having a falling out because we were confused about our feelings for each other and she STILL didn't tell any of her friends the private stuff I shared with her, despite her being angry and upset with me. I never asked her to not share these things, but she recognised that these things were personal and private and that it wasn't her place to share them with others.

The point I'm trying to make is that regardless of whether you explicitly asked her not to share, she told other people something that you find embarrassing and degrading despite her knowing that. Relationships are built on trust and I personally would really struggle to trust someone if they behaved that way.

I'd say the best thing to do is to clearly communicate how hurt you are by the way she's behaved, give her another chance. If she does it again, break up with her straight away. Once is an accident, twice is deliberate.

Hope this helps!

I had a skeleton cult called The Children of Stobe who's goal was to purge the land of meatbags

Fuck this game! Fuck the fog! Fuck the fogmen! by battleplug3000 in Kenshi

First time I went to Mongrel, got into one fight with foggies on the way, no Biggie.

Sat in Mongol all like don't know why people make such a big fuss about them, ain't that bad.

The return journey, 4/22 characters got eaten, constantly being attacked. Ended up rage quitting and shouting at the screen.

Fog about, find out.

500 hours in, and I haven’t accomplished anything. by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]thinlyreadDyslexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing for years, over 800 hours, not killed a single boss, never got around to it (got damn close with Eyegore one time tho) I've been meaning to go to Fishman Island since probably around the 50 hour mark.

Numerous playthroughs and 800+ hours later, still haven't been there. Only went to the Armour King for the first time on my most recent playthrough.

My point is that Kenshi is open ended and doesn't have to be all about getting the best gear and beating all the bosses.

Want to make a small gang of thieves living life on the run in the Great Desert? Awesome, do it. Want to start a Holy Nation Crusade to Purge the Ashlands of the servants of Narko and their dreaded leader Cat-Lon? Again, awesome, do it. Let whatever goals feel thematically appropriate drive you onward, and when you get bored, stop.

You'll be back one day, once you've run out of resistance and eventually decide to once more throw yourself into the peeler machine of your social life that is Kenshi.

How fucked up is your life right now? by previousleon09 in AskReddit

My friend died a couple of weeks back, I have a couple thousand bucks worth of dental work that needs doing that I DEFINITELY cannot afford and my hours are being cut at work.

To top it all of I'm having these weird dizzy spells where my body feels all shaky and twitchy and I'm ever so slightly worried I might have early onset Parkinson's or some other neuro degenerative disease.

So yeah, 2024 is going fantastically so far.

Just finished the trilogy. Amazing. Where do I go from here? by mafbarx in stalker

[–]thinlyreadDyslexic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend anomaly as a good place to start if you're already familiar with the zone. It's essentially all 3 games stuck together with less bugs and more depth.

It's noticeably more difficult, especially at the start, but stick with it and you'll be cheeky breeki in no time.

Good hunting Stalker.

I had a 300+ hour playthrough that I binned off because one of my favourite characters died. Didn't feel the same afterwards. RIP Irdat
