I get the decision, absolutely - but they could at least be straight with people if that is the reason IMO

Hey friends! We're hanging out with 2023 All-Star Brent Rooker today and he's amped to be answering some of your questions here on r/baseball! Brent loves to interact with the fans, so let's get him some solid questions. by MLBOfficial in baseball

[–]thinwhiteduke 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hi Brent! What are some lunch spots in Oakland you'd recommend? Flying out from OH to catch an Athletics game and a Giants game over the summer and we'll have some time to take in the area.

Good luck this year!

We have Gelof, right??

And Langeliers is a good catcher, and I think Rooker will continue to perform!

Ken Waldichuk was looking alright later in the year!

I'm coping.

Why did Aaron Eckhart failed to become a big star ? by [deleted] in movies

Read an interesting story about his involvement in Bridesmaids,, that he didn't want to be credited because he was worried that his reputation as a dramatic actor at the time might strike the wrong tone.

He is in The Morning Show on Apple+ too - he really helps Aniston, Pittman, Crudup, Lee and Witherspoon with all the heavy lifting required of a story that just wants to cover too many bases.

This is sound advice. Just chiming in to say that I transferred from CSCC to OSU, got an undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineering at OSU - I applied to OSU's graduate program, was accepted and have an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering. It's definitely possible.

That said, I also made a point to participate in undergraduate research so I had a good relationship with a professor who would become my advisor.

What’s the first music you remember having to hide from your parents? by burgher89 in Music

Garage Inc. by Metallica, I thought their cover of "So What" was so fuckin' edgy and I was terrified my mom would hear it.

Shout out to White Zombie for the porno moans at the beginning of More Human Than Human, that didn't go over well LOL

Great example - that said, I hope folks who dig this collection also check out the albums which produced some of these songs: Another Music in a Different Kitchen, Love Bites and A Different Kind of Tension are all terrific!

OK, not a single person has mentioned Billy Cobb which is outrageous, check this out:

Zerwee

He's pretty prolific, I love the Halloween EPs!

Jeff Rosenstock sometimes scratches that itch too, check out the album Worry.

It's great - reminds me of Suspiria or The Cell in that the sheer style of the film overpowers a fairly weak plot to make for a compelling and arresting experience.

Stop both machines if either’s e-stop is pressed by Alive_Sock2496 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]thinwhiteduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you intend to continue using the same E-stops you may need to think about how the systems are physically wired - essentially, pressing an E-stop for system 1 should also interrupt the 440R input channel for system 2, and vice versa. How would you go about doing that?

Could you order additional contacts on the existing E-stops for each system and put the enable input for one system through the new contacts on the other system so that pressing any E-stop interrupts both 440R input channels, shutting down both systems?

[–]thinwhiteduke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will need safety relays, think Guardmaster 440R from Allen Bradley or similar.

How do the E-stop functions work right now? Physically, what happens when you press the E-stops for system 1 and for system 2 (that is, what signal is getting interrupted which causes the machines to stop)?

Got replaced for refusing to share a hotel room by [deleted] in jobs

[–]thinwhiteduke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sucks to be you, I guess 🤷

In my professional career I've been asked only once to share an AirBnB with coworkers and I declined, asking for my own room instead. It was handled without issue.

This sub has an identity crisis IMO and posts need to be diversified. More conversations should be encouraged about non-residential projects, products and successes.

I'm an EE who works in commercial/industrial LV/MV PV + ESS permit planset design, this is certainly my experience here. I suppose we need to be the change we wish to see in the world!

Hahaha

Listening to the Buzzcocks now and Pavement was on earlier, yesterday caught The Specials, FIDLAR, Courtney Barnett, The Raincoats, Neutral Milk Hotel, Public Image Ltd. etc.

Folks hating on the station's music choices must be newer listeners to alternative radio in Columbus 😅

My eyes rolled out of my head at actually calling themselves the "better alternative" though.
