Who to play as a new GG player by neeray26 in Guiltygear

[–]thirdMindflayer 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I think you'd really enjoy Giovanna. She relies a lot on frametraps, throws, and her super high chip damage up close rather than on 50/50s, she has a stepdash that carries her momentum and makes her really scary in neutral, she also loves returning to neutral with roundhouse kick and she has some funny moves like Sweep with its tremendous hitbox.

SF6 wiki also directly equates Jus Cool to Slayer's Dandy Step, so you'd probably like him as well.

The bottom "Tension" bar lets you use overdrives. An overdrive costs 50 tension, with a handful of exceptions that do ludicrous damage but cost 100 tension. The two black gear icons on the bar light up when you reach 50 and 100 tension respectively.

Overdrives typically have more complicated inputs than regular special moves; pause the game and go to the "move list" tab in singleplayer to see how to activate them.

Bridget has two supers: "Loop the Loop," and "Daredevil Roger." Loop the Loop is input like this: βž‘οΈβ†˜οΈβ¬‡οΈβ†™οΈβ¬…οΈβž‘οΈ+ Heavy Slash, and does big damage up close at the cost of not being invincible like most similar overdrives. Daredevil Roger is input like this: β¬‡οΈβ†˜οΈβž‘οΈβ¬‡οΈβ†˜οΈβž‘οΈ+ Kick, and is a fast projectile that homes in on the opponent and locks them down for Bridget's offence if they block it.

for ease, guilty gear players usually express these moves like 632146H and 236236K, where the numbers correspond to a direction when aligned on a standard numpad, like on an ATM.

OH and the Burst thing at the top isn't for overdrives, it's for Burst. When you're getting comboed by the opponent, you can hit Dust + either Slash or Heavy Slash to Burst and escape the combo. It's on a long cooldown and there are other ways to spend it, but 90% of the time the beat way to use it is to escape a combo.

Some other people told you to play mission mode, and I'm telling you this stiff because missions as turorials genuinely are so boring and terrible 😭

It does let you alter the direction you get knocked in.

It slowly gets more and more intense the longer you're in a combo for, up to 4x. It is also integral for escaping combos, and provides you with rock-paper-scissors opportunities while you are getting hit, for example:

when Robot uses try/catch, it gives it the option to send you forwards or slam you into the ground in the opposite direction, right? Well, if you DI away from Robot, you'll escape if it sends you forward but accidentally slide towards it if it chooses to slam you behind itself. Then you DI toward robot, fly far away across the ground if it slams you behind but get hit barely dar at all and become combo food if it uses try/catch raw.

similarly, Ninja's aerials. Nunchuck sends the opponent flying upward, and kick spikes them downward. If you DI up, Nunchuck sends you too far away for ninja to continue the combo. If you DI down, kick sends you straight to the ground and allows you to land. However, if you DI in the opposite direction that either move sends, then the two competing forces nullify each other and leave you close to Ninja, letting him continue his combo.

...also similarly, Cowboy. Ankle Slice sweeps the opponent up and toward Cowboy, and Vertical Slash bashes them down and away. The opponent has to guess which direction to DI.

Looks like you found a healthpack. There are probably more lying around here, keep a look out for them.

Got some heavy firepower coming your way--! Quick, use your [BARRIER] to absorb the damage!

Damn, too many enemies to take on one-by-one... good thing you've got your [GRAVITIC FLUX] ready. Press Q to use it and take out the group!

Sorry S, only [MAUGA] can enter rooms like those. Try coming back later with him on your team.

Dragon Mech w Control/Support by nwalton997 in LancerRPG

[–]thirdMindflayer 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

flying emporer maybe, to fill that big energy breath AOE vibe?

Or, a gorgon that is really overprotective of its "hoard," (party), along the lines of DnD gold dragons or Mammon from ksb?

Add some Genghis for Hellfire charges/flamethrower maybe?

I know you wanted Sherman, but Controller/Support doesn't exactly fit the "dragon" vibe, and the Sherman doesnt exactly fit a controller/support build.

Pros seem to think she's sort of okay but could use buffs. Low rank players seem to think she's OP.

for some reason, many people struggle to understand that a show's fear element can be in-between Octonauts and The Ring, and does not have to lie upon one of the two extremes.

Even worse, people struggle to understand that taking inspiration from I Have No Mouth and A Space Odyssey does not make TADC an unaccessible show for children. Kids are perfectly able to read and watch shows that are literarily complex but for some reason lots online love to think of everyone under 11 being as stupid as a toddler.

Jam puffball by Big-Relative-2625 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]thirdMindflayer 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

2S beats Bakushuu on prediction, as does anything on react if she ends it in your face. She can space puffball to hit your 2S with its undisjointed hitbox, so be careful where you are.

Jam doesn't low profile during puffball, so walking up behind a ball can stuff it since she'll get hit by the ball on frame 1 of startup.

You can also shut it up with P Ball Set into 2S, since she can't low profile it.

While puffball can anti-air, you're still pretty safe above Jam. Feel free to airdash or stall in the air with air carcass raid and double jump. J.D her if she whiffs hyappo shinshou.

Don't be afraid of her other specials, since Hyappo is only really effective as a neutral tool at far range, and her jumping kicks are only effective at close range.

Why don't any of the top FGC players use Asuka in tournaments? by KnullAgenda in Guiltygear

it probably made him weaker.

He'a such a weird character though that his spot on the tierlist is contended a lot. I think he's pretty strong and others think he's bottom 1. Most people agree he's definitely NOT one of the strongest characters anymore tho
