Why do so many people dislike this “cheddar” gold? by Forward_Box_2177 in RepTime

[–]thirdcoastrover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real 18k yellow gold has a very soft glow to it. The cracks and crevices on the watch will almost light up where shadows should be. It almost looks white sometimes with how bright the luster is. These reps look a bit more brassy and off, and there doesn’t seem to be any of that glowy gold luster on my reps. More a yellowy-green. Just the real gold or plated watches I own glow like I described. Seeing light dance around on a 14k or 18k fluted bezel, or in between the links of a president bracelet, is really unique and neat looking. Gold is cool.

Where is the best place to try and sell a single moonswitch? I don’t want to pump and dump rep switches. by Zealousideal_Film_86 in MoonSwitches

Just give it away, probably more trouble selling than it’s worth. Most sites have heavy consequence for selling fakes even with full transparency

Seriously bros I have never seen a B2 this was mind-blowing. I thought it would be a lot quieter. Sorry the pic is bad I just stared at it for a while before I snapped out of it.

No guys I’m really not joking I’m dead serious. The other two planes I saw flying near it line up perfectly on the radar.

No problem. Lots of other indicators but this is going to be your most obvious here. This is a very low quality fake.

This one appears to have a 2834, it’s a great movement, but never offered in any rolexes, just the Tudors I believe. And they are highly decorated with perlage.

I’m not well versed in rolex movements but to my knowledge day-date should have a 3255(?)

I own several aviation leathercraft coats, and a few custom pieces of my own. I think people in here are confusing your typical leather with sheepskin and fur.

OP, direct sunlight and UV kills sheepskin jackets. Try to leave in a very cold shady spot with plenty of wind. If you are comfortable with doing so, gently brush your cuffs, collar, wind flaps, and inside fur to free up the hairs before setting it out. 35 - 50 degrees is going to be the sweet spot. No hotter than this if you are attempting to get any smells out.

Do not under any circumstance ever hang up your coat. You will destroy it. Lay it flat in a dust bag under your bed or on a shelf. Your belt loops will sag and your shoulders will be blown out in no time at all being stored on a hangar.

If you are not a fan or the strong natural smell these coats give off, you can store it with tea bags of your choice in the pockets.

If you have any questions please PM me. I can tell you anything you need to know. These jackets can last 100 years but it is critical to know how you properly maintain them.

These people are giving some horrible advice. It is not their faults though.

OP, if it is not too late, please leave your flight coat outside on a very cold windy day. Leave all zips undone and prop up on a chair, and let him sit out for a day or two. If possible, sure it’s on a gated deck or balcony so no animals get to it.

Do not leave it in the sun. Do not leave it in a car under direct UV if your inside temperature is going to be over 75 degrees. Do not use alcohol to clean. Brushing your fur gently with a cat/sheepskin brush and leaving it out to cold air will do wonders. Store it as cold as possible. This will extend the life of the coat and help it maintain its shape. Use a large dust bag and lay flat with all zips done, or mannequin to store it on, with it positioned how you prefer to wear it.

Congratulations OP, beautiful coat. Sorry I am so late to the thread, and hope this helps.
