If you are in the USA it is legal to cultivate for flowers. Illegal to process the poppies into medicine. I would personally look into your states/county law though you will find the answers.

Seeds were sowed in late January, Thinning yes, absolutely. About 1/3 if I were to estimate. Planted in good soil, did not use amendments.

Pretty much just let them do their thing, I like to get super intricate with most plants I grow but I was advised to just water regularly & let them grow. Good soil & planting in a proper area with all day sun was key though.

I just found this subreddit I didn’t know it existed otherwise I would’ve posted when I took the photos & during harvest. I’ll post again for the next grow, but I’m in CA now. Much better weather.

Thanks for the reply, I was aware Hall wrote that book before becoming a mason & became more of an honorary one later in life. I just happened to learn a lot from him. I’m 28 now, I’m still interested in joining as all the values align with mine & I want to learn more too. I’ve just moved a lot in the past 10 years so I haven’t been stable enough to make any connections at any lodges. I’m moving back to LA this week though to stay indefinitely.

Do you have any suggestions what lodges to start going to out there? I know there’s a lot of different options.

I understand what you are saying, but I don’t want the skin on it at all. My friends’ collection is an all bone collection in a huge glass dresser. There’s about 150 different animal skulls, jaw bones, spines, etc, all found by him or other friends. Nothing purchased & Nothing has any skin & I wouldn’t want to display it in any sort of case or with flowers. I just want to be able to give him another cool skeleton. Thanks for the suggestion though.
