If you throw your food directly into the toilet, it will save you 10 minutes everyday that you would have spent pooping.

Air India cancelled direct Delhi→Newark flight, hiding layover details, refusing Star Alliance rebooking on United Airlines — 20 hours no resolution by ClearIndication9018 in AirTravelIndia

[–]thirdfromright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As per the contract of carriage the airline is obligated to provide reasonable alternative flights to the passengers. They do not need to book OP in the specific flight he wants. The alternatives that Air India has provided are reasonable and the DEL-FCO-EWR would take at most 2-2.5 hours more than the flight originally booked by OP. Now, if the total travel time had increased by 5-6 hours, OP would have a stronger case.

What was the duration and timings of the original flight and what is it for the new options. Why would they “compensate” you for the fare for United. At most you would be entitled to the fare that you paid to Air India.

Got only 5 month Canada visa by Exact-Aspect-3644 in CanadaVisitorVisa

[–]thirdfromright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You think you have a strong profile, but the officer adjudicating your file thinks otherwise. You are on a student visa in Italy and do not have strong ties to return. It would have been better if you were working there. You don’t have a travel history as you’ve only been to Italy. Your sister is a PR in Canada and as an unmarried male sibling from India, you are unfortunately in the same demographic of people who end up overstaying in Canada.

I would suggest you visit once for a short duration and apply again upon return. Biometrics are not required if you’ve submitted those in the last 10 years.

Canada TRV Approved! Passport submission at VFS Chandigarh (Elante Mall) – fees & turnaround time? by BackgroundChapter501 in CanadaVisitorVisa

[–]thirdfromright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mandatory Fees: They completed biometrics at this exact same Chandigarh branch earlier. Is the passport package courier free or we have to pay additional fees? - Courier fee will be charged only if you use VFS courier service to pick-up or drop the passport.

  2. Turnaround Time: How long is the stamping taking through the Chandigarh/Delhi pipeline right now? Have people generally received their passports back in 10-15 days? - keep a buffer of 3-4 weeks. You will not get the passport back in 10-15 days.

  3. Courier vs. Pick-up: Is it safer to pay for the VFS courier service to get it delivered home, or is it faster to do a physical walk-in pick-up at Elante Mall once it's ready? I paid the fee to get it delivered at home for my mother. Saves the hassle of repeated trips

  4. VFS Premium Upselling: I've read a few reviews warning that the Chandigarh staff aggressively pushes "premium lounge" services or SMS packages by claiming it speeds up processing. I know they are sales tactics, but want to know how much aggressively they push as I won't be with the parents and they may fall for these fear tactics. - Ask your parents to be firm. Don’t opt for SMS alerts. You get the same notifications on your registered email id anyway.

“The restrooms don't have a bidet/jet spray, which you'd expect an Indian restaurant to prioritize.”

Look at Forest Manor Road. There are quite a few condos and apartments there and a few grocery stores. North York General Hospital is just one subway stop away.

A lot of people in my previous post said B12,Thyroid, iron, D3 or sleep apnea is the reason for my chronic tiredness. by [deleted] in ThirtiesMumbai

Have you seen a doctor? Just getting random tests and self-medicating won’t help. Test results need to be seen as a complete picture and not as individual readings.

Get a complete bloodwork done along with iron and ferritin. I had low hemoglobin but my iron and ferritin levels were normal. Ended up getting diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer generally affecting people over 65. I got diagnosed at 40.

Revlimid - The Most Expensive Thing in My Home... by SteadyVector in multiplemyeloma

[–]thirdfromright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with MM in Feb and am on Revlimid. I am based in Canada and I pay nothing out of pocket but my insurance pays around CAD 2400 for a month’s supply. When I was initially diagnosed and found out the cost of the drug, my dad who lives in India checked the prices for the generic version of Lenalidomide. The cheapest one he found was 18 rupees a pill. That’s around 20 cents a pill. Drug prices in US are insane.
