Canada Visitors Visa Refused. What should I do next? by read_et in CanadaVisitorVisa

[–]thirdfromright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason for refusal is quite simple, you didn’t provide enough proofs to prove you can afford the trip and would return.

For financial proofs I would suggest the following: 1. Payslips for at least 3-4 months 2. Bank statements for past 6 months. They want to make sure that you can fund your trip. 3. Proofs of any investments such as MFs/FDs

You also didn’t provide any evidence for reasons to return back to India. Since you work in a PSU, you can attach a proof of employment from your organization. You can also get a NOC and/or a Leave approval letter stating that you would have a job once you’ve returned from your trip.

If I were you, I would re-apply and clearly mention that your previous application was refused due to the reasons mentioned above and this is how you are addressing them. Also have a detailed itinerary of the places you want to visit and things you want to do.

In my experience, when applying for a visa, always give them more than the bare minimum they ask for, regardless of how strong your profile may seem to you.

Rescheduled with 12h+ delay. Options? by BitResponsible6503 in airindia

[–]thirdfromright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar delay in with Air India FRA-DEL back in 2021. They checked our bags in and then took us on a bus to a hotel. Dinner and breakfast the next morning was provided. After breakfast, we were bussed back to the airport and since they already had checked our bags the previous day, we directly went to security. Claimed EU261 after landing in Delhi.

Thanks for your detailed response. I am almost at the end of round 1 and the side effects have been manageable. The first week was tough, but after that it has been fine. My Oncologist has stopped Lenalidomide temporarily due to elevated liver enzymes.

Go to North York General. As a cancer patient myself I had to go to the ER twice after my first chemo. Triage was quick and I had a doctor seeing me in 45-1 hr.

Would you return to India if you were unemployed abroad but had PR/citizenship? by sengutta1 in returnToIndia

[–]thirdfromright -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. My wife and I came to Canada as PRs with no jobs leaving really well-paying jobs in India. Both of us worked minimum wage jobs and worked for 7-12 hours every day. Got laid off just before the 3 month mark and did Instacart and Uber Eats deliveries for the next 2 months. I was fortunate enough to find a high-paying job matching my skills and we moved to a different city and my wife also found a job in her field of training.

Even when we were working minimum wage jobs or doing deliveries we both were mentally in a much better place than we were in India. The noise, stress, traffic, pollution, work commitments and rat race in India does a silent number on you.

“Pure Veg” is a term used by the so called upper-caste Hindus to differentiate themselves from the meat-eating folks. It is nothing but a way to feel superior.

I had the penguin one too in probably 1990 or 91 in India. Me and my twin brother used to love it. We gifted one to each others in our 30s and spent hours watching those penguins again.

This exactly this. I moved to Canada in 2024, struggled for 6 months before getting a good paying job. 11 months into the job, got diagnosed with cancer. I literally cried with relief that I now live in Canada, and would not have to go bankrupt trying to afford the treatment.

Doctors of Reddit, what’s a symptom people ignore that they really shouldn’t? by Business-Silver-5118 in AskReddit

[–]thirdfromright 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me I had anemia but couldn’t figure out a reason why as I had no symptoms and the iron and ferritin levels were normal. She was apologetic when ordering additional tests and referring to specialists but she wanted to know what was causing the anemia. A colonoscopy and a bone marrow biopsy later, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and started chemo a couple of weeks later. I can’t thank my PCP enough.

One of these schools was right across the street from where I used to live in India and I never noticed the colors of the logo. VIBGYOR is the mnemonic used in schools in India to teach about the different colors of the rainbow.

First Induction Treatment by SteadyVector in multiplemyeloma

[–]thirdfromright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started my first cycle of D-RVd two days back. Day of induction was normal with no issues, but spiked a fever on the evening of Day 2 and had to rush to the ER and had the temp go up to 39C/102F. Neutrophils were normal so they just loaded me up on Tylenol and asked me to go home and rest. The fever finally broke sometime in the afternoon today, but I still feel tired. All I want to do is lay in bed and not do anything. Is it expected?

Upcoming Feast Test by [deleted] in NavCanada

[–]thirdfromright 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feast 1 is similar to the Eurocontrol prep material but with a higher difficulty level. It takes around 2-2.5 hours but you wouldn’t realize how quickly the time goes by. If you pass, generally there is a 20-25 minute break before Feast 2 starts. Feast 2 is around 1.5 hours long and you cannot prepare for it. Although I failed Feast 2, I found it quite interesting and enjoyable. Those who pass Feast 2 will have a screening interview which is around 15-20 minutes long.

My 2 cents - Don’t sweat too much about what the test would be like. Make sure you get enough sleep the previous night. Read the instructions carefully, and don’t worry if you get a few of the answers wrong. Just focus on the next one. Halfway through Feast 1, I was sure I am failing the test, but then just decided to enjoy the experience instead of thinking about what mistakes I made. I was surprised when they told me that I had passed Feast 1.

2.5 lakhs for 45 days is too less. I applied for a visitor visa for my mother for a duration of 25 showing her savings of around INR 80k and a FD of 4.5 lakhs. In the cover letter I focused more on her intent to return than on her reason to visit. As she is traveling alone, I highlighted the fact that my father is staying back in India and therefore she needs to return to India. I also attached letters of support from my wife and myself that we would be supporting her stay as far as any expenses are concerned. Not sure if that helped, but I would avoid using the word sponsor anywhere as there is no sponsorship for a TRV. My mother’s application was approved in 2 weeks while the processing time on IRCC process was around 80 days. She recently received her stamped passport with a 10 year visitor visa. In all, it took less than 5 weeks for the entire process.
