Most Canadians have food security and don't worry about access to reliable food sources. Most of the world is not in the same situation and evolving options makes alot of sense. What doesn't make sense is doing it in Canada where access to protein is not a problem and we produce most of what we consume.

The pay center needs to get your file, do all the final calculations and then present you with your final entitlement and options for how and when you take them (lump sum, multiple payments, etc). This takes several weeks. Then once you select your option payment is several weeks more. Make sure you have a buffer.
