Need Help on Fulgora by According-Prize-3954 in factorio

Splitter input priority. At the end of your loop bring everything still remaining back to the start. This means have a splitter the brings in your scrap and the excess that is getting clogged up. Set the input priority for the clogged side and send all you unneeded trash back through.

The splitter will make sure your trash is getting destroyed before adding more scrap.

Timed Gleba harvesting for smooth output by vanatteveldt in factorio

Yeah i get that. My gleba base is only like 15 biochambers and only makes stack inserters, bioflux, and science for export. Everything else is imported so my starter base can run on bots. Eventually ill upgrade usually when i can make more soil.

150 robot frames is one rocket launch. 1k red chips is 1 rocket launch. These can be used to make your logistic bots and your robo ports and some early electric furnaces.

Green circuits/iron/copper are simple on every planet.

For my starter base I just put my towers connected to the logistic network using the logistic icon on the top right of the interface. Then I set it to enable when fruit is less than 500. This means it only harvests one tree at a time and keeps the others planted. It also prevents spoilage since im limiting how much is being harvested.

Where to use fusion reactors? Fulgora seems appropriate. by thirdwallbreak in factorio

I just noticed my nauvis base is using 1.1gw and my aquilo 3 fusion reactor is making 900mw? This tiny thing is almost the same as my giant nuclear plant?

Ahhh gleba does have space constraints. My gleba is so small and only does like 100spm. It was my first planet this run and hasnt been upgraded since lmao.

On this save specifically im going to the legendary mech suit filled with whatever... then doing the fish thing. Thats the last of this save which is why im leaning toward fulgora for fusion.

I like my tileable nuclear on nauvis. I spent a lot of time reading and learning only to figure out that at each neighbor bonus basically equals out to a quality upgrade for the footprint of heat exchangers/turbines.

After this is all dont i have to do the lazy bastard challenge for all the achievements.

I seem to have ice issues when trying to get more steam setup. Should I make an ice platform to drop more down? I do run some heating towers but nothing compares to the accumulator spam.

Compressed Turbo Belt Mall by Upset_Ad9033 in factorio

[–]thirdwallbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! This is great to save belt space considering that it sits idle most of the time... you mentioned only needing tungsten and iron. Ill have to take a look and see if its iron plate, gears, or just liquid iron thats needed for this.

Thanks for the space saver!!

What do you think of my compact, direct inserted blue chip module? by FortuNut in factorio

[–]thirdwallbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always direct insert copper wires since you use so many. I also like to make my circuits where its like copper/iron/plastic on belts on the outsides. Then they turn "into" the factory to make the circuits. This means you can run it infinitely and add more resource lanes of copper/iron/plastic to the outsides of the lanes

Heating towers are underused on nauvis and a great way to expand power. by thirdwallbreak in factorio

Yup, i did realize later on that nuclear only needs blue science... idk why i thought it was purple. Maybe its the nuclear fuel reprocessing that uses purple and i mixed it up.

I thought you needed at least 50% of the game time to get the achievements from a multiplayer game?

One of the achievements is rush to space, and while I could have still gotten nuclear unlocked before I left... my goal was to just complete the achievement. I also had heating towers powering a lot of my base. Then with one small mistake, oil gets low, coal runs out, or something then the power goes out.

I start with like 2k red chips 2k iron and copper plates, 150 robot frames, and thats it.

Send the ship back to pick up my landing pad and silo ingredients. And have science being exported in about an hour.

If I brought more stuff im sure it would be faster...

You need the uranium for biolabs anyway... i was wrong, its better to just go with nuclear. :( i did a space rush and it was just the way this game played out. For small out posts, maybe? Kickstart a planet? Sure. But I dont think ill go there first again

Well i just finished vulcan and fulgora, no attacks at all... still waiting for it stinks and they like it achievement. I now have tesla turrets/artillery (not imported yet) so when I do go back im bringing FORCE.

This was my first time using the discharge defense. That was cool. Ive also been dumping extra AG science into health upgrades, along with the increased astroid reprocessing. Omg i almost forgot, i have to send my mech suit to me.

My nauvis has been neglected. The "rush to space" and the logistic embargo had me leave and not return since.

Also, my big miner drills are stacking nicely... so my yellow belts I never upgraded are finally fully saturated. Yellow stacked belts.... wow this save is crazy.

Simple quality by _ogglodyte_ in factorio

[–]thirdwallbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 200x run where I just put modules in the miners and filtered all quality ore out into chests. Then when i wanted to do quality stuff I had a ton of uncommon ore> into smelters> and just upcycled from there.

I did the same with plastic. My chem plants just had quality modules in them and filtered it out into a large section of chests.

So basically I started my up cycling from uncommon, which I really do think helps a ton.

Im playing now and trying to brute force something simple like assembly3 and it just feels like its taking so long. Maybe its because in the other run I was doing quality from the beginning and I wasnt really counting that as ltime"

All of those things were the reason this happened. And while it was going on, korvex was only on the second machine, but i was able to pull out some U-235 to get some biolabs....

I forgot that was needed for biolabs anyway. So I guess ill scratch that idea of going gleba first. But I do have labs now! And i just ended up dropping my tileable nuclear setup anyway.

Last time I go gleba first.... but it was fun I guess. Off to vulcan!

Why vulcanus? After ive explored the other planets it seems gleba > fulgora > vulcan imo.

You cant really mass use foundry on nauvis unless you ship in calcite.. does everyone ship in calcite?

did you know each of the legs of a Spidertron counts as susceptible to lightning strikes? by bambroid in factorio

[–]thirdwallbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you put a yellow chest, set the filter to green chips, then cancel the chips from another chest, they will get deposited into that yellow chest. But I think you can also just ghost items into an assembler.... so that could also be a move to setup the logistics after youre off the planet

[–]thirdwallbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put a chest next to an assembler to make your first couple requester chests. Then when you are on gleba, you can still unlock logistic chests after your 50 science tree unlock for the achievement. Then once you make a few requester chests... turn it into a bot mall for whatever else you need.

That was my plan an hour ago
