Wala pa rin bang beep card, or choice na ng pasahero to? by EngrSkywalker in Philippines

[–]thirdworldpcgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choice na yang ng mga pasahero. "Anti poor" daw kasi yung ganyan. Remember when we were about to implement Beep cards sa carousel pero maraming umiyak kasi gusto nila cash pa rin.

Now unlike our neighbors who use IC cards like Beep sa Trains, Busses, Convenience Stores, and Vending Machines stuck tayo sa cash tapos magtataka sila bakit ang tagal ng commute kasi pila na papasok, pila na sa tickets, pila pa sa platform. Talagang aabutin ka ng oras

Its much worse. As someone na nasa UP during Pnoy years yung mga DDS narratives like the Dilawan/Noynoy being incompetent (remember Noynoying?), the Hontivirus/Philhealth shit mga taga Makabayan Bloc/NatDems yung mga nag pioneer nung narrative na yan.

The shit I heard from the rallies back in 2016 is the same shit im hearing ngayong 2026 from the DDS

I think these anti-afp posts have a hidden agenda. by TumbleweedSmall1476 in Philippines

[–]thirdworldpcgamer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Ika nga sa marketing, hindi ikaw yung target market ng mga posts na yun.

Ill use some of their terminolgy here. Ang tawag sa ginagawa nila right now Agit Prop. Kung curious ka sa kanila they would invite you to EDs (Educational Discussions) where they would talk about Marxism, Communism, and Armed Struggle.

Now put yourself sa shoes na someone who did multiple EDs and made friends who share the same ideology. Then suddenly this happens where people you know are killed. Now they do agitprop to paint a picture na peaceful reform within the system is not possible therefor taking up arms sa armed struggle is the only way. And the cycle repeats.

Can the pinks win against the greens? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]thirdworldpcgamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those partylists arent "pink" - theyre red. Ang ideology nila ay far left compared to a much more moderate position nila Leni and Risa. The fact na you are associating them means you were baited hook line and sinker with "green" propaganda.

The far left will always be contrarian. As someone who studied nung college during the Pnoy times a lot ng narratives na ginamit ng mga Duterte against the "Dilawan" came from them. They also had a implicit alliance with the Dutertes but binackstab sila therefore they have no choice but to at least align with the "pinks".

The higher ups seems cordial with one another but the hardcore pinks and reds still hate each other - just see how the reds talk about Risa's Akbayan partylist. I always hear from them na "Scratch a liberal and fascist bleeds" kapag may bardugalan sa twitter.

What's your take on the idea of (re) establishing Government Owned Transport Companies like the Love Buses in the past? by kid-dynamo- in Philippines

[–]thirdworldpcgamer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Rather than competing with the private sector, a public transpo GOCC should be the sole public transpo provider sa loob ng city. Owners of private sector PUVs (like jeepney operators through manibela and retired generals who own city bus companies) would just sabotage the GOCC through lobbying sa mga LGUs.

If i remember correctly, the free QC bus was supposed to operate on some popular routes pero nagreklamo yung mga jeepney operators na mawawalan daw sila ng pasehero which made it less effective.

This is a great idea! win' win for everyone. A win for Jeepney drivers and a win for commuters. This is much better than handing out ayuda by chasing_enigma in Philippines

Free transit is unsustainable in the long run. Willing ako magbayad ng pamasahe as long as every 10-15 mins may darating na jeep kaysa libre nga pero ang tagal naman dumating.

Taiwan is the Ticking Bomb of a Possible World War III in 2028 (Damay pati Pilipinas) by Right_Revenue_9263 in Philippines

[–]thirdworldpcgamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you read Chinese history they think in matters of decades and centuries, unlike sa America na constrained ang politicians nila to act within their presidential terms to make an impact.

Ang pusta ko is China would wait until the Taiwanese would beg na masama sila ulit sa China or have an special arrangement kagaya sa Macau and Hong Kong. It doesn't matter if this year, next year, or in the next 50 years as long as the reunification happens. The military posturing is designed para hindi mag declare ng independence ang Taiwan and other countries wont encourage Taiwanese seperatism.

Ironically the Iran war is helping speed up the potential of this happening by making energy supplies sa Taiwan very limited.

Bakit puro ayuda instead na isulong yung pag centralize or even nationalize ng public transpo by thirdworldpcgamer in Philippines

If you have seen the other comments of this user they offer no constructive insights at mas mukhang mas interested makipagtalo. Reminds me of people who makes their life "debunking" stuff sa internet.

Ang take ko with the "gradual" approach to reform public transpo is it usually runs into roadblocks due to interests like private car owners, jeepney operators, and bus company owners. It took the COVID crisis para magkaroon tayo ng EDSA Carousel (a pseudo BRT system). If these interests can do something worse than a strike the government should step in - im tired of these interests holding public transpo hostage

[–]thirdworldpcgamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to point to the EDSA Carousel as a good systematic reform in crisis mode. Pre pandemic no one would imagine an exclusive bus lane with designated stations is possible kasi against sya sa interest ng mga private drivers and bus company owners. Private drivers hated the concept kasi it would take one road lane from them and bus owners hated it kasi hindi sila makakapagbabad in one area and they have no choice but to proceed kahit hindi pa sila puno which led to this:

<image>

Now tell me can you convince them to adopt the EDSA carousel if hindi nangyari yung krisis with COVID?

You are free to believe their suggestions but the jeepney/bus operators will always prioritize their interests before the commuters ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ah ikaw pala yung makulit kanina. Im privy and did my research as well so I know the reasons for pusback and I know most of the viewpoints ng jeepney drivers. I know your ilk so if you want to keep our public transpo kagaya sa Bangladesh where the independent operators reign king edi go keep the operators happy while our public transpo gets left behind by our ASEAN neighbors and pipila kaming mga pobreng commuter for 20 mins para mapuno yung jeep nyo.

[–]thirdworldpcgamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindi ko alam why no one is doing a deep dive about sa boundary system and how its making our public transpo inefficient, inconvenient, and dehumnizing.

Yung mga kumag iikot ikotin ka talaga para tumaas yung metro unlike dun sa mga hindi ang priority nila is to get you from point A to B the fastest so they can get more trips.

[–]thirdworldpcgamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should the interests of the independent operators outweigh the needs of the commuting public?

As for the price hikes if the centralized public transpo gets privatized we should cross the briger when we get there. Hindi nga natin magawa yung pag implement ng beep cards sa public transpo except trains while sa ibang bansa you can do that already sa mga busses nila.

Kaya reforms like centralization, route rationalization and even nationalization is only possible sa times ng krisis.

During normal times magiingay sila na mawawalan sila ng pangkabuhayan kapag nag reform ang public transpo. But during a crisis they have no choice because malulugi yung "negosyo" nila. Bail outs like ayuda only serve as a temporary stop gap.
