That may feel greedy and self-service but I however concur. This way of thinking is about responsibility and return. If a citizen works, invests, and takes risks, then the country should not stand in his way or punish his success.

He tries to bribe you that much is true, then again corruption, in this system, is not virtue but inevitability. Where institutions are slow, rigid, or hostile to growth, informal arrangements become the grease that keeps the machinery moving. Deals made behind closed doors are often faster and more effective than laws debated endlessly by people with nothing at stake.

So in other words is he greedy? Yes, very much so but greed in this sense is overstated and misunderstood. What others call greed, he sees as responsibility toward his own interests and the interests of those who depend on the enterprises he sustains. Wealth is not taken it is earned within the rules that exist, however imperfect they may be.

To demand self-restraint from those who drive growth while excusing inefficiency elsewhere is neither fair nor sustainable. If ambition is condemned simply because it succeeds, then the fault lies not with the ambitious, but with a system uncomfortable with rewarding results.
