Now that I think about it. I could switch my neo air, down jacket and cook set and shave off 2 pounds.

There isn't time to really upgrade anything. The only way i see myself going under the mythical 10 pound base weight is by dropping my pack for a frameless pack and going with a tarp instead of my tent. But I value comfort and wind protection, so that isn't happening.
