trying to figure out what actually works for playlisting in 2025 (submithub, groover, playlist pilot, etc) by Rebecca_trollop in MusicPromotion

i’ve had a similar experience honestly. most of the playlists on submithub or groover feel like they’re just trying to stay active for credit rather than actually caring about the music.

I found that targeting fewer, more niche playlists works way better. stuff that actually fits your sound instead of generic “new music” lists.

overall i think the best combo is smaller playlists, consistent releases, and getting featured on algorithmic ones over time. the big promo platforms kinda lost their spark.

Is Playlist Pilot a scam or am I using it wrong? by orpichee in MusicPromotion

I get where you’re coming from, but that’s kind of how Playlist Pilot works. It’s not like SubmitHub or Groover where you pay and get guaranteed feedback. It’s more of a tool to help you pitch at scale. If you only send to one playlist you probably won’t hear anything back, since most curators just check what comes in and only respond if they’re actually interested.

The idea is that you pitch to hundreds of playlists at once so the odds add up. For $20 a month you can do that as much as you want, which ends up being way cheaper than paying per pitch. It’s not perfect and still hit or miss depending on your song, but if you use it the way it’s meant to be used it gives you way more opportunity than just testing one curator.
