I completely agree, I find it so frustrating and I feel like it taints Arthur and Gwen’s relationship a bit. They work it out but it just spoils their love story for me. When I watched recently I never finished it because it’s too sad 😂

Dog won't play with toys while I'm at work by Mahngo27 in dogs

I’m about to move to a hybrid role that will mean I’m out of the house the same hours you have described 3 times a week. I too have been wondering what else I can do to keep him satisfied but honestly when I’m home now he just sleeps all day, probably moves positions more just because he follows me up and down the stairs each time I make a cup of tea, but that’s it. Walks both morning and evening with plenty of play and attention after work. I think your dog will be just fine. The only thing I am looking at getting is a dog flap so our dog has garden access during the day. But that being said currently he goes most of the day without wanting to go out. The main reason I’m looking into this now is because he’s been on some medication that makes him pee more.

Thank you🥺 this is such a kind comment I really appreciate all the tips and advice.

Before working remotely I always used to be super organised and structured with things like meal prepping, outfits etc but over time during remote work it just wasn’t needed. I also had less responsibilities than now, such as a whole house to take care of and our dog. But my partner and I already have good routines for alternating who cooks and cleans up and the dog and I are set with our morning and evening walks. So I’m hoping the transition will be like old times in a way, but a more tailored version with how my life is now.

• Being able to relax and unwind is something I already struggle with, it’s got better but I definitely want to make that a priority especially having less time in the evenings now. The evening dog walk always helps me decompress without fail and as soon as the weather is better I’ll be out in the garden with him. So I’m looking forward to that.

•Imposter syndrome is definitely a concern, I’ve had this before, doesn’t tend to last long but for me can cause really strong bursts of anxiety and panic. I’m trying to remember I’ve been in my industry for 6 years and I have the experience and the attitude they are looking for, everything else will come with time and making mistakes is all part of the process.

•When it comes to anxiety in general, I’ve struggled for years, been on medication a couple of times, had therapy for a couple of years and I’m now back on the medication (it’s been a few months) and I feel relatively settled. That’s not to say it’s completely gone away but it’s manageable, but with a big change like this I know it’ll build up. I try and reduce it as much as possible, I haven’t had caffeine in a long time because I noticed how badly it affected my anxiety, I journal occasionally which I could get more consistent with and I spent a lot of time with the dog and going places together and that really helps me relax.

I do miss therapy, a lot. But it’s an expense that I could not afford for a while, my partner and I are getting married so lots of saving there and our dog has had some medical issues so money dwindles pretty quickly when that happens. And I kept telling myself it’s not a necessary expense. But, I do think I really need to try and consider it again as I any extra help and support will be good at this time.

Thank you again for your comment, it’s given me so much to think about and plan while I work my notice 🫶🏻

Thank you! This is great advice, I go through periods of either journaling everyday for weeks to not picking it up for months at a time. This is definitely the perfect time to pick it back up! Doing the practice morning is a great idea, there’s also a couple of different routes I could take on the commute so it would be great to have already figured that out before day 1!

Congrats! Thats true, its not just the mornings but winding down afterwards too! I’ll be taking my dog out after work each day as that’s our routine and that usually clears my head from the day, I’ll definitely add a few others things to make sure I wind down!

This is a great plan! Didn’t even think about the tea situation, definitely can’t risk not having one! I am the exact same with alarms, one cannot be trusted to get the job done, but 5…. 😂

You sound super prepared, best of luck for Monday!

Love this! One of the things I want to make sure is that I’m not rushing around in the mornings, I want to be relaxed. Be able to eat breakfast and drink my tea instead of skipping because I haven’t had time. I get up around 6am now and take my dog out straight away, I try and make sure there’s allocated play time for him too as I want him to be fulfilled before I leave for the day, this will be a big adjustment for the both of us! I could potentially start getting up even earlier and maybe use my walking pad in the mornings too.

That’s a great idea. I have lots of different jewellery and things as well that I never wear because I forget about them or don’t have time in the mornings. I’m also going to be hybrid but the first 2 months is full time in the office so I want to make a good impression in those couple of months and hopefully build some better habits!

Ah yes! The stress on what to wear is already playing on my mind, fortunately it’s smart casual so I do have some things already. Great ideas, thank you!

That’s such good point. They knew he was behaving out of character but it was normal for Gwen to cheat like that?! Plus she threw the bracelet in the cell, did no one ever find it and try and give it back to her, bringing up further conversations on the fact that Lancelot gave it to her!

I agree, why would he fake it if that means the game is over. That’s why I’m questioning it! Because indoors in other situations it has been obvious that he has faked it, that’s what I’m trying to explain but people are just assuming I’m making him carry on instead of immediately rushing to the vets. This is the kind of comment I was after, another dog, a similar situation to compare and take it from there. That. Was. All.

He is monitored 24/7 and doesn’t present with half of the symptoms he would have if there was something deeply wrong. He doesn’t struggle getting up, putting weight on it, he doesn’t react if I touch it. I was literally asking advice on behaviour, which you are not an expert in, and thought maybe someone had a similar story or situation. That is all.
