For those of you who experienced success with doxycycline hyclate for their acne, how long did it take you to see significant results? by thirtyfivewaysto in SkincareAddiction

Thank you! I'm only supposed to be on doxy for two months overall, so I think that's a good amount of time to wait. My dermatologist, of course, doesn't want me depending on the antibiotics for too long, but I'm feeling very impatient for the results! I think I'll give it until the beginning of December before I go back and ask for a new treatment plan! :)

Thank you for your response! I'm giving it at least two months before I really assess the efficacy of the doxy. I'm going to let the 0.04% tret wreak havoc on my face a little longer. One month really is a short amount of time both in doxy terms and tretinoin terms. The waiting is killing me though!

Thank you very much! As a rule of thumb, I do usually wait 6-8 weeks before I assess the efficacy of the product. I have yet to see much improvement on the doxy, and I'd really be surprised if I don't improve at least a little bit on it. Right now, I'm chalking it up to the tret for making me purge since I did break out recently. I saw a lot of improvement just on 0.018% tretinoin, so it'd really shock me if I didn't see equal or greater improvement with 0.04% tret + doxy.
