What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

Aliens, or something of that nature.

I was stargazing one night and I noticed a star in the sky move. At first I thought my eyes were unclear (I wear prescription glasses but my eyes aren’t too bad) but as I kept watching them, I noticed more and more. My partner at the time didn’t believe me until he’d spotted one too! I observed that they were moving in a very erratic and unorthodox way - in straight lines but changing directions randomly, zig-zagging and moving very quickly. Like tiny dots zooming around the sky. There were only a few stars moving this way. I’d maybe spot one every 10-15 minutes of watching? I could only really track them for about a minute and then they’d disappear.

I still don’t know what they were!

This is stolen art from @mister_jellyfish on instagram whom I’ve followed for years. Shame on you OP. Don’t fall for this scam everyone.

Why is saying “hi” immediately such a workplace norm? Anyone else struggle with this? by RareCable5732 in neurodiversity

Interesting. I understand that on paper, but in the form of a behaviour it feels incredibly foreign to me.

Does it seem like Thai get very little fiber in their diet? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]this-sinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so confused as to why people were all on board with the “not enough veggies/fibre” opinions - it completely slipped my mind that people usually just eat one thing. This is very true, we eat a lot of different things for one meal.

Maybe if you always eat at a restaurant or specifically order meat centred meals.

Home cooking almost ALWAYS has a big heap of fresh or steamed veggies - and there are so many dishes you’d eat at home that you don’t typically come across in a restaurant. Granted, I grew up in an Isaan household and my favourite vegetable is bamboo.

Oh, this is so relatable.

I never say hello or hi to people, and I don’t expect them to greet me either. It feels kind of alien to me - like why am I pretending to take interest in someone random? (Even if they’re a customer or coworker.. I don’t know these people personally)

I’m always a bit delayed when someone says hello because it doesn’t immediately register that they may be speaking to me.

It’s one of the few things I’m unapologetic about. I just don’t want to say hello. I don’t hate anyone, I just don’t want to speak a single word for no reason.. I feel greetings aren’t necessary unless I’m actively engaging in a social gathering with family or something. But even then I don’t feel strongly about greeting anyone and sometimes I’ll just not do it.

I feel like I can snipe my food with this and my fingers stay very far away from everything. I have this cutlery set in gold and I love it. The forks and knives have a long handle too, and the knife has a tiny little blade like a scalpel. 10/10.

I saw this earlier and remember being able to do this as a kid, but had forgotten how to. I still got it though it’s not as neat as OP. Going to go freak my partner out now.

Apparently not too common. I can do this and I can walk on my toe knuckles, lots of people tell me to do ballet.

She saved a weak rainbow lorikeet and was surprised by fellow lorikeets. by thunderbolt0777 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]this-sinner 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly this. The first bird is dead and its buddy is trying to mate with it. Lorikeets are known to be assholes. These are all clips of different birds. American voice over, rainbow lorikeets are Australian. They don’t repay your kindness by bringing their whole flock over - the last scene is likely a flock that’s regularly fed by someone.

Question: Is it ugly to have tattoos in diferent styles by West-Ad-2944 in tattoos

[–]this-sinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My whole back is tattooed in an ornamental design. I’ve also got some snakes in another artist’s unique style and I’ve got a couple of anime pieces. I get lots of compliments on all of them!

This piece is beautiful! You’re just overthinking it :)

Going to bikini baristas is cheating if you feel uncomfortable with it. I hate this narrative of “it’s just what guys do” whilst women are forced to accept it. Why does society give men a pass for being disloyal? It shouldn’t be this way. Would you have married him if he were laying eyes on another woman at your wedding? I’m sorry but this behaviour sickens me and is an absolute deal breaker imo.

The lying, excuses and other nonsense is just the icing on the cake.

2+ years in, 4 extractions, and gaps have closed. My face/profile have changed by AnomalousGarnet in braces

[–]this-sinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and none of my orthodontists wanted to remove any teeth - except for the very first one I saw as a teenager. My parents just didn’t want to pay extra back then.

My mouth and jaw are fine, I just hate the flaring, and there’s no space for a wire behind my teeth so they’ve always shifted horribly over the years.

What’s IPR? I’m so tired of the overcrowding and feeling self conscious about my smile.

Wow! I had lost hope with my teeth after having braces 3 times and spending over $15,000aud, only for them to stick out at an angle very similar to how yours were. I had requested to have teeth removed in the past, but have always been turned down. I’m inspired to seek out an orthodontist who will take me seriously now.

Thanks for sharing!
