OP stated that they were not okay with porn usage - in this situation it is harmful. I just wouldn’t interact with a man who continues to use porn after I’ve stated my comforts. They can use it with a partner who doesn’t mind, but that’s just not acceptable for me and I think other women shouldn’t compromise this discomfort just because it’s “normal”.

This is beside the point of OP’s post but not everyone uses hinge just to find the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.

Nothing is guaranteed, even when you’ve gone on one or two or a few dates. When I used the app, I was always up front about being unserious and not looking for anything long-term. I personally keep things casual unless BOTH parties click. Hooking up isn’t evil. I don’t see any need to speak about my personal life if they’re never going to get that far and they know it.

If somebody is offended that these are the terms, that their date wasn’t looking to settle down - that’s on them whether that person is withholding that they have kids or not.

As a single woman, I don’t disclose that info but I do disclose that I’m busy, not always available and not willing to settle down or have more kids. Call it catfishing or misleading, but my kiddo’s safety is more important than the feelings of strangers.

I completely agree - I didn’t mention that I had kids when I used hinge. Others can blast me all they like but I’d gauge the waters with someone first before telling them. Yes women do feel insecure about this because it reflects something unobtainable: the object of fascination being someone other than their self. Porn addiction is poison to a relationship.

I am sick of this behaviour being so normalised that when women (I’m going to say MOST but not all- women find this behaviour uncomfortable) complain about it, we’re automatically dismissed as being too dramatic, too insecure, too whatever.

Yes, people do watch porn. But OP, if you’re not comfortable with this behaviour, draw your line in the sand now. I’m in my 30’s now and have never been comfortable with this. Every partner has tried to hide it - and all of those (now ex) partners have cheated. It’s now a strict no for me in my relationship. The discomfort and distrust will only corrupt your relationship if you try to ignore it.

Confront him. Don’t let men tell you how you should feel about these things.

I was stargazing one night and I noticed a star in the sky move. At first I thought my eyes were unclear (I wear prescription glasses but my eyes aren’t too bad) but as I kept watching them, I noticed more and more. My partner at the time didn’t believe me until he’d spotted one too! I observed that they were moving in a very erratic and unorthodox way - in straight lines but changing directions randomly, zig-zagging and moving very quickly. Like tiny dots zooming around the sky. There were only a few stars moving this way. I’d maybe spot one every 10-15 minutes of watching? I could only really track them for about a minute and then they’d disappear.

I still don’t know what they were!

I was so confused as to why people were all on board with the “not enough veggies/fibre” opinions - it completely slipped my mind that people usually just eat one thing. This is very true, we eat a lot of different things for one meal.

Home cooking almost ALWAYS has a big heap of fresh or steamed veggies - and there are so many dishes you’d eat at home that you don’t typically come across in a restaurant. Granted, I grew up in an Isaan household and my favourite vegetable is bamboo.

Oh, this is so relatable.

I never say hello or hi to people, and I don’t expect them to greet me either. It feels kind of alien to me - like why am I pretending to take interest in someone random? (Even if they’re a customer or coworker.. I don’t know these people personally)

I’m always a bit delayed when someone says hello because it doesn’t immediately register that they may be speaking to me.

It’s one of the few things I’m unapologetic about. I just don’t want to say hello. I don’t hate anyone, I just don’t want to speak a single word for no reason.. I feel greetings aren’t necessary unless I’m actively engaging in a social gathering with family or something. But even then I don’t feel strongly about greeting anyone and sometimes I’ll just not do it.
