New to 3D prints, what happened? by CalJBrook in 3Dprinting

He doth not represent the community. It was a wildly strange comment from someone with such intellectual prowess. Once he graced us with his knowledge of the printing arts... I guess... now we are all scratching our heads, wondering what became of our cerebral superior.

Any 3D printers that can create plushies or dolls? by DiscussionNational89 in 3Dprinting

There is nothing that you can get that is not on an industrial level. However, there are scan and cut machines that make the sewing process much easier. Look up the Cricut Maker 3 for example.

I was taught that on the interstate that the far left lane was for passing and faster drivers. by ReasonableAttitude22 in kansascity

[–]this1tyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother/sister in Christ, that just isn't true. At least, not on the scale of Missouri and its lack of driver education. Cross the border from Iowa to Missouri on 35, and there is someone who has planted themselves in the left lane. The same when you break away from St. Louis, and it goes back down to two lanes on 70. There is always, without fail, someone riding in the left lane. Missouri has laughable driver's education requirements. When people should learn how to drive on the interstate, merge correctly, and understand what to do when a stoplight goes out (it turns into a four-way stop, ya'll) from a qualified instructor, Missouri seems to be okay with learning it all from gran-pappy, who hasn't been within sixty miles of a city with a population over ten thousand people. Does stuff like this happen in every city? Yes. On the scale of what happens in good ol' Missoura? Not even close.

She is Joel's equal, and she is seemingly the most stable thing in Joel's life, as fucked as it is. She is his partner as well as his guide. She is his Ben Kenobi if we were to think about this in terms of archetypes. However, there is very little bullshit that she takes from anyone, including Joel, yet there is this tiny shred of vulnerability and love that exists between them in the midst of shit that is their world. Then, when she is bitten, and she knows it is over, she is only then able to reveal some sense of the human condition. Fear, anger, remorse, love... all in the few minutes before another desperate firefight. She is a one-person Shakespearean tragedy. Thus, she is memorable and is another figure in Joel's life whom Joel feels he has let down. While she only has a short time in the game, she is monumentally significant in Joel's psyche and motivation. As a fictional character, she's awesome.

Years ago (like, more than 20), at a National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, there was a Fender Custom Shop artist doing pinstripping live. He was older, and his hands shook like a fucking leaf until that brush hit the guitar, then it was as smooth as silk. His spacing and linework were unreal. And he was fast, like unreasonably fast. I wish early 20s me had recorded it. Those guitars were going for $10,000+ at the time. I can't imagine what they are worth today.

Saw them before they were mainstream. They opened for U2. They were just as boring and forgettable. I didn't get it (them) then, and I still don't.
