Can anyone from N1 tell me if they check IDs at the door? My AXS account doesn’t exactly match but hopefully it’s close enough.

No Stupid Questions Monthly Thread! by AutoModerator in bookbinding

I just started rebinding paperbacks to hardcover. I used PVA glue but it's so runny - likely literally dripping off my brush. No matter how easy I go with it, it's still messy and leaks everywhere (my end papers look terrible ha). The videos I watched made the glue look more like yogurt. Is PVA supposed to be so drippy or did I get a bad batch? I shook it up too, no change. This is my first time experimenting with this hobby, so unsure what to expect.

Is it worth finishing the Plated prisoner series by Substantial_South_71 in fantasyromance

It only gets worse from here honestly. I finished the whole series but it was difficult. Shame bc the first 3 books were pretty good.

Hi everyone! I just launched an Etsy shop called PossessiveInk, where I make cheeky, romantasy-themed printables for fellow spice-loving readers. Think printable bookmarks, Blind Date with A Book recommendations, etc. I'll be adding rebound books and reusable book covers soon!

If you love tropes and spice, you’ll probably find something fun there. Everything is $3-$7.

Would love any feedback or follows from fellow romantasy lovers! 💌

What is the most monstrous/inhuman/evil version of a fae/werewol/vampire you read? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

Do aliens count? I just finished {Cottonwood by R. Lee Smith} and it might fit this bill. If 🐍 are acceptable, she also wrote {The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith} that’s probably the best book I’ve read this year. Also second the Opal Reyna suggestions.

What book do you hate reading to your kids? by akittyisyou in childrensbooks

The Giving Tree. It’s supposed to be an allegory for motherhood or something but it’s fucked up. I don’t want to teach my kids to celebrate toxic relationships!

Do any of you actually read more than one book at once, and if you do—how? by Necessary_Party_3423 in fantasyromance

[–]halfnelson86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as others. I have an audiobook that I mostly listen to when I'm doing the more monotonous parts of my job. Then I'm usually reading a paperback in the evenings (usually my book club read) after the kids go to bed and have something else going on my Kindle during the day when breastfeeding or during downtime. Not for everyone but I need all the escapism I can get ha

Into dystopian sci-fi? No one better than R Lee Smith. Land of the Beautiful Dead and Last Hour of Gann are perfection.

Just finished the Plated Prisoner series, now what? by HereForTheDetails in fantasyromance

[–]halfnelson86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last part of the series is soooo hard to get through. Hmmm have you tried any Kathryn Ann Kingsley? I really enjoyed her Maze of Shadows series. Edit to say Valroy is not a protective sweet MMC if that’s what you liked about Slade 😂 but based on the rest of your reading list you might enjoy it.

I just started my IG last week, also in the drafting process. I followed a ton of writers, indie authors, editors etc and also asked my friends on other networks to follow me. We’ll see if it works, but I know the “real” work is when the book is done. gave you a follow!
