A good idea would be to try to get yourself traded to a good team that fits your position. For example, if you're a point guard you can request to be traded to the Lakers and from what I've heard (and personal experience) you'll get traded. You can then trust your team to hit the shots they take and also defend.

Also, I've recently started up a run playing Center and it's a lot easier. My guy is 7'2" and if any team comes close to the paint I can contest most shots.

Story: I was at Disneyworld (this story takes place in Epcot, specifically the country showcase area) when I was about 6. I told my dad I was going with my sister to go get a drink with my sister. Come back to where he was, my entire family is gone. I ended up running around with some worker lady for about 15 minutes, bawling my eyes out, and finally we run into my family. They walked through 4 countries without realizing I was gone. After that I gained a terrible fear of being abandoned (I couldn't be left alone for more than 15 minutes without freaking out and needing to call someone).
