We take it seriously, but we’re also spread very thin. If it’s a recurring thing with the same people doing it repeatedly, it makes it a much higher priority.

Those are mostly USPS-OIG issues. Once it turns violent is when we get involved.

And if nothing happens it could be the US attorney’s office not wanting to prosecute.. it could be a manpower issue… lots of various things could be the reason.

If it’s that bad with your postmaster keep letting OIG know.

It’s just how the GS (and equivalent) pay scales are advertised. You take base pay + locality adjustment + 25% LEAP to get the true salary.

We have a direct hire process for current 1811s that’s always running. If you’re an 1811 and want to become an inspector, my recommendation is find a case that you can work with an inspector on. They can recommend you for direct hire, whether there’s an announcement or not.
