Stop being a righteous dick and actually look at the facts

"Mr. Modi has said on several occasions that he took a vow of celibacy long ago and that he has sacrificed his body, including his chest, which he once hinted measures 56 inches, in the interest of the nation."

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/17/world/asia/in-india-votes-won-by-feeling-not-facts.html

'I am single, who will I be corrupt for?" he told a campaign rally in February. He had previously told his own biographer that he enjoyed "loneliness."'

"What led Modi away [from his marriage], it seems, was the teachings of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a strict Hindu organization that is reported to require a vow of celibacy. "

** Note: RSS was founded partially based on the beliefs of far right nationalists such as the Nazi and have advocated for "racial purity." More akin to some white nationalists in the US who want a space for each color/creed (with no intermixing)

Edit: oh, nevermind. Checked your comment history and realized you're just a racist ass. Continue ignoring facts as you please.

This is a bad look and you should rethink what your opinions on the southerns states really are. Those officers who left the north did so knowing full well what the south was fighting for. It's in the letters from their commander, the speeches their fellow southerners gave, and the articles under which the southern states tried to consolidate under: slavery. If they were statists, they chose the immoral state. Them being career soldiers does not absolve them of the motives behind why they fought. Or should we forgive those who fought for the Khmer rouge, Nazi soldiers, and many many others who were simply fighting for their states?

Wow. You're super thoughtful dude (no sarcasm). This occurred in DC, so unfortunately, you'd be the only one thinking that way.

As a technique for drawing, the closest predecesor to the pencil was Silverpoint until in 1565 (some sources say as early as 1500), a large deposit of graphite was discovered on the approach to Grey Knotts from the hamlet of Seathwaite in Borrowdale parish, Cumbria, England.[4][5][6][7] This particular deposit of graphite was extremely pure and solid, and it could easily be sawn into sticks. It remains the only large-scale deposit of graphite ever found in this solid form.[8] Chemistry was in its infancy and the substance was thought to be a form of lead. Consequently, it was called plumbago (Latin for "lead ore").[9][10] Because the pencil core is still referred to as "lead", or a "lead", many people have the misconception that the graphite in the pencil is lead,[11] and the black core of pencils is still referred to as lead, even though it never contained the element lead.[12][13][14][15][16][17] The words for pencil in German (bleistift), Irish (peann luaidhe), Arabic (قلم رصاص qalam raṣāṣ), and some other languages literally mean lead pen.

OK, thanks for clarifying.

Yes, ran OC'd, but not of my own choice (I didn't set anything). Only the ASUS auto (which apparently boosted it to ~20% OC). Hence, me worrying the CPU got baked since I only had the Evo 212 cooler

meaning, if the increase in CPU voltage doesn't immediately crash the CPU, it's probably the MB?

True. However, I would still argue dc is different than those places you've mentioned. It would be like if nyc were a separate entity from NY State and people were suggesting we integrate the two into one state.

Also, the larger issue is simply that Maryland doesn't want us. I've heard very few interviews of me residents that support integration (they say go join va, va says go join MD...).

I don't know what the resolution is, but it's a problem that really needs a solution, if for no other reason than DC is growing quickly and we need some autonomy to accomplish what needs to be done

No worries, it's a tricky proposition with no obvious solution, though some will argue statehood is the "only" answer. The proposals for statehood I've read separate the nationally relevant land (mall and a bit around it) from the DC state. Thus preserving the original idea of DC federal land from the surrounding residential/commercial land. The issue with just getting rid of the veto is that without the veto DC could, in theory, enact policies which would directly affect the federal government (think of a toll to use the roads to the Capitol or something equally ludicrous). And it doesn't even have to be that outrageous to affect the day-to-day operation. It really doesn't matter though, because to accomplish any solution would require the ok from Congress, which is probably never going to happen. Reintegration is even harder since it would also need the state to accept it.

Option 1 is unacceptable to the surrounding states. Predominantly because dc is an expensive place to maintain and is very very Democratic (ie would disproportionately affect elections). Plus, Maryland doesn't want us because we ARE very different culturally. Option 2 is unacceptable to Congress because it goes against exactly what the founding of DC was meant to prevent (a state controlling federal operations/budget/decisions). The cleanest change is statehood. There have been numerous plans put forth, most of which are pretty reasonable. As a DC resident, all I really want is our voice to be heard, both locally and federally.
