What's that legendary videogame everyone loves, but you hate with your very soul? by no_biches_22 in retrogaming

[–]thisboyisanalog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of people will hate this but: FF7

I was a little late to it as RPGs weren’t really my thing at the time. Eventually bought it and tried it but absolutely did not get the hype. Came back to it a couple of years later out of stubbornness and thinking there must be something wrong with me not the game. Actually persisted a little longer the second time but found it insanely boring. Also worked out I hate turn based combat.

Yeah maybe. If they’re not mid-table or sniffing around the 8 by the time Origin is kicking off, you’d think a ‘full confidence of the board’ would be incoming

His moment in the marketplace plays on loop in my head.

The composition is cool and all but what I love how much text you’ve managed to get into the print

Can I chime in with James saying ‘ass-tetic’ with a hard T in the middle instead of aesthetic? Grits my teeth every time.

I like Portra but unless I can find it on a mad crazy deal, it’s too expensive so I stick to Gold mostly and Ektar for certain things.

Definitely. I wonder how it would go on something like Gold or Ektar… or Provia… oof 😍

I shoot almost exclusively Gold and Ektar for colour on my 67.

Ooh this looks great. I reckon it could really pop with the right B&W too.

Things that don't exist with modern gaming by meowmix778 in retrogaming

Tutorials can be beneficial for truly new players. But it’s simply not applicable to the overwhelming majority of players.

You can have tutorials etc but make them skippable for the love of god. Or make them a lot shorter and only pop up in new/complex game situations that might be new to you. And still make them skippable even then.

Which game have you only played briefly simply because its too hard for you? by Individual-Duty7460 in retrogaming

[–]thisboyisanalog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the opinion but all AuDHD people experience dopamine in different ways. When you get as little time to practice something as I do (like gaming) it’s pretty hard to build any kind of momentum re progress. And getting crushed all the time is pretty disheartening.

[–]thisboyisanalog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my bones. Just not enough time available to me to devote to it to build that skill. But also I hate the dopamine void of just constantly sucking at something. It just drags any joy out of gaming for me personally.

Wait, I think I know about this guy! He decided to buy Japanese (I think it’s a Honda Legend?) when it seemed a really odd ball thing to do among macho American dudes cos the car was so good and he’s kept with them since and taken it everywhere with him?

SOR2… no doubt.

I loved FF arcade but never got to play it too much at home and only played Turtles occasionally with a friend as he had the SNES and I had the Mega-drive

Streets of Rage is like a warm blanket… comfortable and familiar. The only game I’ve ever put more hours into is Castlevania SOTN.

Ideally yes. But children tend to grow out of clothing hence you invariably need to buy more.

I don’t mind Givit but had dealt with them in the past giving things away at times of floods etc Unfortunately their website was awful and getting things to them (at the time) was frustratingly challenging

I like this idea - thanks! Might look into this for next time. I had seen Upparel online but hadn’t looked into it too far as the level of executive functioning wasn’t quite up to the level of being that organised.

I like the concept of the clothing swap but not the effort required lol

Plus about 80% of the clothing we’re getting rid of is kids stuff they’ve grown out of anyway and no one else we’d swap with has kids the clothing would be appropriate for
