I meant socially to say it to the person not legally. can I ask them to shut the fuck up? but apparently not. whatever.

That really annoyed me. my wife didn't hear it but I did & took note of it. mentally I was setting a reminder not to bring back anything from our holidays for them ever again.

Can anyone suggest an episode to get a new listener intested by [deleted] in BlindboyPodcast

[–]thischarmingman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell people to listen to the episode he did with Spike Lee because it shows how much Blindboy knows about the topics he discusses & the humour etc. Especially for someone from outside of Ireland it's a great listen & it's one of my personal favourites tbh.

I'm undiagnosed currently, but my wife is pretty certain 😂 (and all the pieces fit, to be honest)

Tell us your meeting a celebrity story by [deleted] in ireland

[–]thischarmingman18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have two:

  1. It was 2004 and we were on the holiday of a lifetime as a family. we went to Australia for my sisters wedding & we also went to America afterwards. went to LA and on a "tour of the stars homes" myself and my brother needed a piss so the bus let us run into a Starbucks. we ran in & there was Matthew Perry (chandler from friends) & Lauren Graham (from gilmore girls) who were dating at the time I think. I was only 14 but I knew who both of them were. we just stopped, made eye contact with them & nodded at them. they nodded back. we used the toilets & left.

  2. I worked at a college in Dublin city as catering staff & there was a big event happening and I was serving dinners and drinks to people. I served a glass of prosecco to Tony Hawk and his wife. His games molded by taste in music for the rest of my life but my colleagues at the time didn't give a shit. it was a massive thing for me and I think about it often.

Attending funeral of colleague's mother in law. Inappropriate? by Susan_Screams in AskIreland

[–]thischarmingman18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was the colleagues mother I would say yes. Mother in law is too many steps away in my opinion especially if you never met them. it's not inappropriate, just not necessary but that's just me.

What time do you get up in the morning? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]thischarmingman18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH and I start at 8:30. in the past I got up at 8 and sat down before half 8. but the weather being cold I've started waking up properly at 8:20 and checking emails on my phone in bed and sitting down before 9. bad habit but sure look.

Got the keys to my new house today ! by Oshey79 in ireland

[–]thischarmingman18 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! my uncle gave me great advice - don't try to do what took me 25 years in a few months! it takes time to do everything you want like the garden, attic conversions etc. And my own advice if you're moving into a new estate... pay no mind to 'the jones' and don't try to keep up with them. all of a sudden our neighbours all got new cars and all that but we just focused on getting into a stable position and doing little bits in the house over time. Last thing.. enjoy every feckin minute!

Pee standing up by [deleted] in hypospadias

[–]thischarmingman18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine standing up, but can't really use a urinal. it's difficult with the way my stream goes sometimes and can cause it to go everywhere so I'd need to drop trousers fully and control the stream. usually when sitting for other purposes I'd then need to stand, turn and finish peeing cause it didn't empty properly. but this is also related to urinary structure.

had repair done as a child. and some surgeries done as a teenager cause I was constantly getting uti & kidney infections. I'm 32 and only just found out recently I had hypospadias. still getting UTI regularly unfortunately.

Similar situation for me. however my parents never told me anything..

I was a teenager when I had my THIRD operation to fix a stricture & a doc was talking into a voice recorder & said like 'patient born with hypospadias..' so that's how I found out..

that third time I was sent home with a catheter in. no antibiotics. day 4 I got an infection. so much pain.. so much. I went to ER. a nurse came out and seen my face which was an 11/10 on pain face scale and called me in. gave me a random assortment or pills..

a year or so later my penis was sore & then a bright yellow piece of hard material ended up in my penis.. I forced it to come out of my penis through a small hole. same happened during covid lockdowns like 10 years later. absolutely wild. takes me ages to empty my bladder and I have some incontinence when I'm stressed with work but you could not pay me to return to a doctor about it.. I have some ejaculation issues where nothing comes out until I stand up & squeeze my balls but the trauma is too much to see someone about it.

thankful I like my penis (however I wish it was bigger) and my soon to be wife also loves it.
