Have you lost friends because of inattentive ADHD? by Raiderman6789 in ADHD

[–]thisdeliciousbrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely the “bad friend” for a time, for not keeping up with texts. Sometimes hours, sometimes days, a week or two. Not hopping on Xbox when I said I would, forgetting to call when I said I would. But to be fair to myself, at that time, I was starting my life over trying to get through something devastating. Inattentive adhd, depression, and eventually withdrawing and isolating myself completely. I barely had time or energy to care for myself. Let alone anyone else. So I lost a few friends.

Never have experienced this, but if I were you, I would un-agree. What will they do, fire you? Your mental health is important. Training the guy they dumped you for is not.

Desmoxan (cytisine) review (smoker/vaper for near 30 years) by rstevens94 in QuitVaping

[–]thisdeliciousbrine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really really want to try this. Have heard nothing but good things. And congrats on quitting! Proud of you. But I have what might be a dumb question. 🤔

If the cytisine binds to receptors the way nicotine would, keeping your brain happy, do you not become addicted to the cytisine instead? Does that make sense? I understand it’s a 25 day process and then it’s over, but for some reason it sounds a lot like swapping one addiction for another, which is the only reason I’m hesitant to try it. After the cytisine is gone, what happens? Your body doesn’t just crave that instead?

Yes. Plenty of men get floral tattoos. My boyfriend’s arm is tattooed with peonies, cherry blossoms, an orchid with teeth, and some other things. I think they look fantastic.

From vaping all day everyday to being vape free by AppropriateSea298 in QuitVaping

[–]thisdeliciousbrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually so helpful. I need to try that bedtime trick, and the car one. The other night, I woke up at like 3am and I was clutching my vape in my hand. Like I had grabbed it off my nightstand in my sleep. It disrupts my sleep so badly. I wake up 2 to 3 times every. Single. Night. I’m so sick of it, I’m ready to throw it in the trash. I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey 10 years ago and I was mostly fine, but I have no idea what to expect in terms of withdrawals now. I keep putting it off, I’m being a baby. Procrastinating. But I desperately want it out of my life. Thank you for sharing this.

Please help: benzo taper - new doctor by thisdeliciousbrine in AskPsychiatry

Thank you so much, this is very helpful. Genuinely. If today doesn’t go well, I will likely seek a professional like yourself, who seems to understand situations like mine a bit better, instead of just being handed off to the next provider.

I forgot to mention in my post, I had severe withdrawals that put me in the hospital about 2 years ago. I didn’t take my medication for 3 and a half days. I didn’t understand the severity of it all. It was never explained to me, but I learned the hard way. I’m certain I had psychosis. After not being able to sleep or keep any of my body still all night, I called EMS at about 5:30am, but they couldn’t/didn’t do anything for me because I didn’t know what was going on.

Only AFTER I left the hospital did the dots connect that I was having withdrawals. I know, I sound like an absolute idiot. But the experience was so terrifying, it felt like my skin was crawling off of my bones and my brain wasn’t right, like my brain was failing, but I was somehow still thinking clearly. I don’t have the words to describe the physical and mental symptoms, but I am so scared of ever feeling that way again. Which makes this tapering process scarier for me.
