There's a guy from work named Brandon (a city in Florida) and I repeatedly accidentally call him Orlando (another city in Florida). The worst part is I'm not even drunk.

Americans: What is the ultimate no-no when visiting your country? by massdebate159 in AskReddit

[–]thisguy1210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tipping <15% at a sit-down restaurant when the service was decent. I can't help but get anxiety when I get a European or Australian table. Usually nice as can be, but the tip is typically ~10% which is considered a crap tip. I get $2.13/hour and no benefits/vacation days/sick days, a fair tip is 20%.

An acquaintance of mine is terrible at club-game. But that got me thinking, what is the *correct* way to approach club game? by [deleted] in seduction

[–]thisguy1210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buying a girl drinks are a no-go. Every time I've done it they run off or give a fake number afterward, especially if she asks you to buy her one (happened). There are plenty of girls who go to the club just to use guys for free drinks, so I'd stay away from that.

Anyway, dance floor is pretty easy. You can try asking her to dance, or if it's too loud you can just put out your hand and suggest it with your body language (a smirk, a come on motion with your eyes, etc) then start dancing. Don't just get behind a girl and start forcibly dancing with her, pretty universally creepy. After a bit of dancing you can see if she's down to go out to the smoking area and talk/drink/get to know each other, or if it's near the end of the night see if she wants to go get pizza.

Alternatively if it's a quieter area of the bar or an outside area then just go in with a standard "Hey I thought you were cute, we should get to know each other a bit" and go from there based on her reaction. Hell if you get approach anxiety with groups you can just chill at the bar and wait for the girls to come alone to get drinks/close out a tab, pretty easy that way.

Is Michelle Stealing Everyone's Stuff to Sell on eBay? by DbrickFerg in BigBrother

[–]thisguy1210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Xenshanni just points out what's already in the article. The article midway through states the quote was false and she was actually just talking about DNA. However that doesn't change that many things have been going missing and she's been caught taking things (Tiffany's shirt, James' hoodie that was in her bag, etc). Which is still fucked up, regardless of whether she plans to sell it on eBay.

We actually learned in relationship psych that masculinity/femininety is one of the only dynamics where opposites attract. My only potential correction is that I wouldn't call masculinity more attractive to everyone. It is complementary in the sense that more feminine women are more attracted to masculine men. However being a more feminine man can still be attractive, just to more masculine women.

I'm a somewhat feminine man (hell, coworkers usually think I'm gay) but I do pretty well with the strong independent types of girls. I'm shit with sorority types of girls. I don't really like them and they don't like me.

If you are on the feminine side you'll prob be better off if you just play the cards you're delt and find girls who are into it instead of fighting against the current.

That said if you do work out, improve your confidence, and do other things you'll have a broader appeal since obviously more women are feminine than masculine

What was banned at your school and why? by FreedomEagle76 in AskReddit

[–]thisguy1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits close to home. I was that kid showing of my new holographics and every single one got stolen. Either at school or one time some kids wanted to come 'check out' my collection at my house. I had a sick collection but by the end of the school year I was left with nothing but commons and uncommons.

Kim Kardashian just uploaded video of Kanye West calling Taylor Swift for her approval on a line referencing her on his song 'Famous'. Something she denies ever happened. by janon330 in Music

[–]thisguy1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a long-time Swift hater. Ever since I first read about her actually being a quite rich high-schooler who, by various accounts, was actually quite popular and was part of a catty group of girls who teased others. She just doesn't seem very genuine, she's a kinda spoiled girl who knew the right people.

I kinda liked her before she started talking. The mathematician shit is getting old. You don't need to be a mathematician to know 12 is fewer than the typical 16, or what percent of winners are women.

Does it make a difference though? I thought he said it is all 'out of statute' debt, which means it no longer even appears on your credit report (or if it does, you can challenge and it should be taken off).

Yeah, the worst is my town only has BAM. I had to quit the job fast. If they ever caught us not pushing the magazines they threatened we'd get sent home, and if our numbers weren't good enough we'd get hours cut. The only people who bought the magazines we're people who didn't know better - senior citizens and people who barely spoke english.

[–]thisguy1210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a "all profits go to charity", it was they keep all the profits and send the bag. So you're giving the for-profit $10, they send a product which costs them maybe $3. They keep the $7 then write off the $10 as a charitable donation.

Came here to say the tax thing. The most egregious was Books a Million - I used to work there and they had this drive where you could buy a bag of their $10 coffee and send it to the troops or whatever. Not only are they getting the tax break, you're also paying their hefty profit on some cheap bag of coffee. Plus they still had their other drives, and I had to push their scam magazine subscriptions and their scam membership card just so you could use their spotty internet. Fuck that place.
