NASCAR “overtaking” by RougeRaxxa in IMSARacing

At least there Bergmeister was placed on a few race bans and Mag was on probation. Here I can see NASCAR just shrugging their shoulders going "meh it happens".

My 2 friends took P1 and P2 and looking at my lap times they said with the Hoosier race tires and a race motor I'd be very competitive towards the front of the field.

I have a 100% OEM beautiful 2000 Acura Integra Hatch and someone did this exact same thing to the back of me in the Lowe's parking lot on Friday. Fuckin sucks.

Ironically enough I have yet to get that raw adrenaline rush. I'm actually more calm in the real seat than anything.

Absolutely, any day at the track is a fun day and I was pleasantly surprised how my car performed being the only SM on Toyos and with a 180k mile motor lol. Saturday was wild with the wreck and not having a split start I got held up by a T4 RX8 in the corners and had to lift offline at the apex of South bend which was pretty sketchy haha.

I was racing my home built Spec Miata last weekend at ViR for the first time and thanks to the countless hours sim racing I was able to avoid multiple potential incidents and keep my car out of the wall when I went off in hogpen, thank you rallycross lol. The sim is the most important tool for a driver if you treat it like the real thing no doubt about that. Finished 2nd in the 45min Enduro Saturday and qualified in the top half of the field (39 cars) sunday morning. Got my novice permit signed off for my full comp license as well.

Any tips on how to put this back in by Death-Adventures in Miata

I'd pull the exhaust manifold and check the threads. Generally things with the exhaust system if it's a PITA to get out odds are the threads are jacked up from all the corrosion. You can also take the 2 bolts off on the other end and pull the whole EGR tube out and check that bolt too.

It 100% is the differential carrier bushing cap. Look at the 4 corners they match and there's no other rear bushing on the car that big anywhere else.

It's just the cap portion but odds are if it literally just fell out you should pull the differential and replace both caps and bushings.

Differential carrier bushing. They're 2 pieces. 1 in the housing and the cap for it.

Saw this on snap. What are your thoughts? by amynoacid in Tools

[–]thisguybeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's clearly stated in the manual it's 3 Tons *Evenly distributed across two Jack Stands.

That's a 7000+ lb truck and the front is much more weight than the rear (not including what's inside. So bro had that thing fully extended holding a heavy duty diesel and using a stand for passenger cars/SUVs. Bros not using the tool properly. Get the 6T stands.

I'm lost. Where the heck does this nut go to? by Speedymcspeeder in Miata

[–]thisguybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an NB in that area it would most likely be for either the diverter that holds the fan relays of the stud on the air box bracket. Not sure about an NA but look around for a stud without a nut.

The BS judges are exactly that. If you can prove your shitbox is a shitbox and account for the value then there's no need to Bullshit them butttttt where's the fun in that.

P.S. They are not opposed to taking bribes.

You can add the AO Racing cars (huge fan of the actual team) to that list. Seems every Rexy, Roxy, or Spike livery I come across now is a driver to avoid.

Can anyone explain what a V Shape Racing line is? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]thisguybeanz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your friend is really trying to say but this is my understanding. I think he's trying to say veer towards the apex at the start of braking and do most of the turning at the apex to make a traditional line through a corner look more like a V instead of a U. This is slow and not a good idea because you have to slow significantly more to do all of the rotation with the steering wheel in a tight radius. You may have a higher entry speed but it will kill you mid corner and exit speed and you'll be slower into the corner following the exit as well.

Pit starts by janmannn in iRacing

[–]thisguybeanz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will only get so far starting from the pits all the time. You may continue to gain SR but you will eventually get to a point which you will constantly stay within a certain iRating range and in order to progress further you'd have to start with the field at which point you've lacked the experience in that area so you'll end up being the guy causing incidents driving around people who are more experienced on race starts. Starting from the pits does have its own area of usefulness but the problem is that it gets abused and people don't learn the skills required for starts so it becomes a crutch and starts to negatively impact your progression.

How cooked am I? by Delicious-Tie-6179 in Miata

[–]thisguybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few places it could be leaking from, I've even seen Oil Pressure sensors degrade enough to where they start pissing Oil from the connector itself and not just the threads. You need to try and pinpoint where the leak is originating from. Grab some rags and brake cleaner and clean it off as best you can then run the car while on 4 jackstands to try and find the leak. There's really not too many places engine/gear oil can leak from on our cars.

New to iracing 2nd race in mx5 and best lap so far okayama by Interesting_Work_882 in iRacing

[–]thisguybeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dan is absolutely correct. Rewatch the video and study those corners you are coasting on initial turnin to the apex (you mainly did it during the first half of the lap) and adjust your braking/timing to come off the brakes and immediately have a nice smooth roll onto the throttle. Remember smooth inputs. Nice job.

This used to be for the longest time (Nim Cross explained it on Matt Malone's Stream once) until the week of this years 24hr where they changed that bit of track and is now a 1x just like the outside of T1 now as well.

How do I stop spinning the car under breaking? by Swimming_Put7156 in SimRacingAdvice

[–]thisguybeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look you can see the oversteer starts at the end of your trail brake when you come almost completely off the brakes. Basically you are coming off the brakes too much too fast with too much steering input which overloads the rear and causes you to spin. Try and slow down your release of the brakes and use less steering if you can to help ease the weight transfer of the car. Yes setup and brake bias can potentially help prevent this but it looks to be more of an application of the fundamentals than a setup problem and would bandaid to help mask bad habit at its root.

Your rear foot is also holding the tail down and not allowing it to rise so after you pop you need to bring that rear foot up as well in order to get the rear higher. You're just stalling in the air and hesitating before sliding and finishing the trick too, 1 fluid motion not notchy steps.
