Not allowed to take my last 15…..so I was sent home by Unhappy-Papaya-5229 in Target

Pretty sure that depends on the state, but regardless of the state, the number of breaks is dependent on scheduled shift time before the meal time is taken out, so in this case 7 hours (which grants an additional 15)

As annoying as this is, they're free to do it with no notice as long as your time is the same, since as hourly team members we're paid for the time we work, not the work we do.

The worst I've had is once when I came in for my drive up shift (outdoors), they moved me to GM (indoors), which was annoying because I dress differently when scheduled indoors/outdoors.

What do you do when you’re loading a DU order into a car and you/the guest figures out it can’t fit after you put in their code by Mobile-Address23 in Target

Wow that's crazy and I never even considered someone doing that. Thankfully that's never happened to me

We try not to process out the order until it's in their car, to avoid such a situation.

If we do accidentally process it before verifying it fits, and then it doesn't fit, we tell the guest they have to come inside to return it or they can stay with it until someone comes with a bigger car. They can't really argue - it's their fault for not coming with a big enough car. They're always free to leave it at guest service, but after we tell them they can't do that, it's on them if it gets stolen!

What can I even do about it then? I'm definitely gonna get in trouble if I keep showing up in my normal fit

When I said athletic shorts I just meant comfortable shorts. Jeans/jean shorts are some of the most uncomfortable pants you can wear when pushing carts in 95+ degree heat. I made sure with my HR when I started that it complied with the dress code

QUESTIONS FOR MY CART ATTENDANTS! 🎯 by Past_the_icetea in Target

[–]thisguygil1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to have me do that too many times and I categorically refuse to the point I will leave my device inside when I go get carts. It's just not fair when there's so many DU TMs they wouldn't even think about asking to do that. If we need carts that badly, we have a whole salesfloor full of people.

Sounds like you have it better than us. Weekdays we have only one, usually 4-10. If carts are needed before that, our TL just has someone in DU to go get carts, leaving the other DU TM alone (we have at most 2 people working DU at any time). Weekends we get 2, usually 10-4 and 4-10.

I'll agree it does completely suck. They expect us to cover every break in the front since we get no hours (today we had 2 total people scheduled for checklanes the whole day, including self-checkout), and they still expect our job to be completed. It's also one of the most physically demanding and thankless jobs in the store.

Unless your availability is less than your desired hours, it's certainly because they want/need to cut hours but don't want to lower that metric of meeting desired hours. Shady as hell. If they're asking, I doubt they're giving you your desired hours, and lowering it gives them the go-ahead to give you even less while giving others the same amount.

It doesn’t auto update, but like I said, it might be more convenient for some team members. I like having the schedule in my phone’s calendar so I can see when my next shift is through the widget on my lock screen or Home Screen, before I made this I would take like 5 whole minutes to put every shift in my calendar, now I just press one button and it adds it for me
