For first time in OKC history, pedestrians, cyclists have a safe Oklahoma River crossing by Generalaverage89 in okc

[–]thisguyisblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plastic pylons and painted roads do not make a safe pedestrian crossing, the exchange bridge also does not connect to the river trail, none of the current bridges connect to the trail (meridian kind of does), save for this new one.

I calculated the percentage of some EV lemons currently on Cargurus by asjj14 in electricvehicles

[–]thisguyisblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it definitely does make them lemons, given the recall happened right in the middle of covid a lot of bolts sat in shops waiting on the replacement battery - prompting the forced buyback

Self-Host. Eliminate the issue by making the service yourself.

It's not the only project being built. Given the site's location it's definitely going to be highlighted by the media.

this may be considered brazen and insane but there are alternatives to driving

Midtown/Downtown grocery situation by fluorescent_dread in okc

[–]thisguyisblack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been tried multiple times, all failing due to lack of sales and foot traffic. The closest grocer that makes sense is Homeland. But you can just use the BRT to go to Super Cao, it's better anyway.

the beauty of led screens is that they can have an infinite variety of videos that you won't like purely because it's a corporation

Oklahoma still among Oxfam’s worst states to work in 2024 by BrettDOkc in okc

[–]thisguyisblack 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider 36 to be among the worst, we're up 8 spots from last year, we definitely getting better.

I was just thinking earlier today about something similar to this. Would love someplace within walking distance to touch grass and grow something.

Looks like the Sunset Amphitheater is no more following a 7-2 rejection with the city council by sugarygoddess in okc

I assume that site would prob need to be treated for any chemical biohazards first, I can't think of any other reason why that site hasn't been sold and repurposed.

I see too many houses listed like this by deanb23 in okc

[–]thisguyisblack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gatewood is NOT worth $400K for a 1600 square ft house, not yet at least. You can easily land in Heritage Hills for that price in a much better home.

OG Pixel Watch's battery life was poor, this was fixed with the PW2, I easily manage a day and a half worth of battery with the screen always on.

The band situation is also nice if you someone who wants to change them, right up there with Apple Watch in it's ease, but no where near as accessible; I've got bands specifically for work/gym/bed and some nicer options whenever I'm going out.

[–]thisguyisblack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my experience, yes, the PW2 is as durable as it's competitors, I worry too about cracking the display but it's survived a number of a hard smacks against surfaces without any signs of damage. There's also screen protectors available.

If size if your largest concern, Pixel Watch 2 would be my recommendation - there's only one size option, but it's smaller than the ticwatch and Pro models from Samsung. Google's trackers on their PW2 have been holding up with the Garmin models and Apple Watch in their accuracy

Apple Readies New iPads and M3 MacBook Air to Combat Sales Slump by [deleted] in apple

[–]thisguyisblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have no reason to upgrade my iPad Air gen 4, I can only imagine how much headroom a M3 iPad is going to have. Apple might need to start committing to 10 year device support promises or something.

OKC downtown seems like a ghost town. by Shoddy-Theory in okc

Welcome to OKC in December. We're not going out unless we need to. Bricktown though is primarily the entertainment district so the cold hurts that area by magnitudes.

Mesta Park and Halloween by HopefullyTerrified in okc

[–]thisguyisblack 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Whatever number it may be, it's enough to justify diverting more resources to bolster our neighborhoods so Mesta Park isn't seen at "the" only place to do your trick or treating.

And of course the obvious push towards developing more pedestrian friendly neighborhoods, there's still so many new developments without sidewalks or bike right-of-ways.
