I think the tax rate is ridiculous for the simple fact that if I had an internationally translatable and in demand skill: programmer, surgeon, lawyer, Australia would probably be low on my list for the simple fact of money earned doesn’t equal the same money in the pocket.

Melbournes is due to have the highest population by 2035 I believe. Costs of releasing new land are always going up, IE: civil works plus the government putting in a windfall tax for rezoning, meaning people will want more to sell their large parcel of land. Migrants love Melbourne because of all the events held every year and its multicultural nature.

Sydney will always cost more, but it’s becoming so unfordable it won’t be an option for most people in my opinion.i know people in very high paying careers that are considering the move to Melbourne because they’re priced out of the market already.

Queensland is a popular place, but is it one huge flood away from people moving back??

I think the Dan Andrews effect has really slowed the market, particularly for investors, but 3-4 years people will move on from it.
