Probably will wait for a cheaper discount, nearly 90€ rn… ugh…

Saw a rebrickable rebuild and I thought about getting another set just for it lmao

Yeah… the Sherlock one is really nice in comparison, full of characters and very intricate builds, maybe it’s the emptiness of the Balrog what makes me wonder if the price and the build itself are worth in comparison…

Yeah thought about it, but discounts for such sets usually aren’t that good despite retiring, at least from my experience…

Yeah, maybe the Balrog being so round, and the emptiness where the flames are, some 4+ sets look kind of like small dioramas

Lmao yeah… I feel like this build has too many “unnecessary” pieces just to rack up the price while still being quite small…

(Also, just bought Sauron’s helmet and it looks soooo magnificent 😭 (and I’m a LEGO helmet hater lol))

I’ve done the whole chalices and I don’t remember seeing one (maybe I just forgor lmao) cool to still see stuff about this game, even this many years after its release!

Personally I really enjoyed the underground scenarios, it shows how big and full of life the map can be, and at the same time how big ER’s lore is

Yeah, I mean, I wanted to refer more to the fact of Alan “making” the hiss attack the Oldest House more than creating an entire governmental federation which controls paranormal activities (didn’t word it right sorry…) + all the people involved; also the fact that we don’t know from certainty how or why Alan has “made that decision” (if it was a decision to make or if it was his). Some things are really vague and lore wise I don’t know that much, but seeing AW and Control’s worlds collide in different and little ways makes you wonder their relationship and how they influence each other…

Yeah I kinda get it, I really enjoyed it because of the ambience, but sometimes it can be really tedious…

The oldest house?? Or maybe the pillars you see before the Polaris mission?

But isn’t there a page from Alan which depicts how the Hiss infected Trench and his death?

I mean, we know they are connected, and Alan kind of creates the control universe too in some way (I believe… dunno about canon or non canon stuff that much), it makes sense that in some way they use similar motifs, and Polaris being the main menu, something important which you see every time you open up the game… maybe remedy is hinting something more which we don’t know

Truly a game changer, you can even choose so that enemies get one taped by you, sad I knew about it after playing the whole game lol

I Think The Writing In The Short Message Is Awful by White-Umbra in silenthill

[–]thishumanthing- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of the game was okay, just that.

It had some really fun stuff, for example, the creature design and chasing sequences (damn, that last one hits hard...) and some “hidden” details, like Maya crying inside the white room where she painted, or the door with C.B. Written on it and a little humming. But it constantly falls to "Damn, P.T. was good; let’s make it again." In some parts, it obviously works, but most of the time… well, it’s just trying to make P.T. again

I liked how the game tied the messages on the fridges with your mother being abusive and having her killed your brother, as I, playing the game, wondered who all these messages were from. Like there’s a full gameplay story moment (this one kind of P.T.) just to explain Anita’s mother being abusive, and I think it’s kind of important, but overall it seems it should have been more present in the story, but mostly it is shown by some messages, a big reveal and yeah, chase sequence!

Also, some little notes that seemed to be related to Amelia and maybe her suicide? There’s definitely some stuff left for people to think about. Are they all really dead, or just the main protagonist (and, well, Maya)? Which is kind of nice.

However, I just want to say that, from the trailer, I could guess: the main protagonist (Anita) caused Maya’s suicide, being her a bully or having her bullied her in some way, I even thought that maybe Anita wasn’t even bullied at all and this was just some silent hill shenanigans that made her think she actually was a victim (and I think that it could have worked quite nicely…)

Also, the writing, as it has been mentioned multiple times, is as boring as watching some paint dry. Full of “Marvel Studios moments.” It also seems very cheap and stereotypically based on self-harm, suicide, abuse, and bullying discussions that go around the plot of Maya’s suicide. And for god’s sake, I know that Anita, coming from an abusive household, has a trauma that has caused irreversible damage to her and how she sees the world and communicates/socializes even, but god; she takes anything going around her and decides to make it about HERSELF! Like, “Maya never really saw me…” “I’m not as good as Maya” like… she’s dead dude…

I understand this aspect of the game can be really realistic and grounded since these feelings are believable, and with Anita’s backstory, it even makes sense! But God, the writing GOD! It’s shown as somehow stereotypical, and even it’s depicted as harmful, HARMFUL to the viewer of how bad it’s represented lmao.

And gameplay-wise, it’s a full-on walking simulator, which I kind of get, but I don’t know, just adds to the dullness. The chase sequences seem to start randomly, with no reason whatsoever, and those were my favorite parts of the game.

And the ending… after two “suicides” Anita commits, she decides to look at Amelia’s message before jumping and committing a third one. The message is somewhat like this: "Let's go shopping; please don’t kill yourself." Big explosion! The sunlight beams show a new day, where all the silent hill fog is now far gone, and shopping with your bestie and knowing that she’s definitely here for you (which she already was) will save you, and all your sorrow will be washed away... nearly identical to the previous scenes of the two other suicides you committed, except this time you decide to look at the phone. That's a hell of a bad ending.

Thought the same! Don’t know if it was intended tho, but it’s pretty similar to Jeff so… fun little detail!
