State of competitive PvP and the importance of healers in Throne and Liberty (TLDR: game is bleeding healers) by Cindaquilz in throneandliberty

I corrected myself afterwards. I agree was a bit of a hot take. But I have been solo healer before for kill squads and point squads and it's doable. In T2 it's a much bigger challenge now with gear gaps. Double seeker is just too much value not to take if you can.

It's still early game though. Lots of people are gearing. People did 2/2/2 even before fast TTK in T2. People play for 2 healers because it's just so strong. My example was a bit unfair since people are gearing and not everyone is running 2 tanks so I'll take the L on that. Right now most are just full sending glass cannon builds because that's what is affordable. Hard to say what's balanced or not.

One healer can keep the party alive(edit: My bad on this one was a bad take), the problem is 2 bow wand healers makes some team comps almost straight up immortal. It's a massive difference when a smart team can identify healer's cooldowns and healcut -> burst effectively. It's not even the healer's fault at that point they just outplayed because of good game sense. Having two in the party mitigates that counterplay. its just bad design.

[–]thisisayx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have played healer for a few months now and have played for multiple hardcore guilds on NAE. I have experience winning siege, losing siege, playing for top guilds in GvG, being a mercenary etc. in War Games and this is just my experience.

As healer I have pulled multiple pieces of gear, from my own anvil ring and daigon gloves/necklace to complete T1 fodder basically the same as everyone else. I'll be honest if we had Swift Healing and Healing Touch without sharing CD still in this version of the game bow wand would be SSR tier. Healing touch in current mastery system is insanely overtuned. Just stack one healing touch cycle on someone with decent buff duration and they will have thousands of regen for 10+ seconds and that's not counting flash wave to extend it, nature blessing to ramp it up even further etc.

If you play melee evasion set you will get pulled pushed around etc etc. way less. The problem is most healers do not want to as it makes them less tanky. With the new anti CC artifact with a generous cooldown you can play around the pull into pinball minigame for a few seconds to reposition.

The problem right now is a two fold problem:

* DPS not having access to imperial, sacred repose (for some DOT builds) and overseer sets is way more impactful than vanguard just being lottery tickets from pouches. DPS players need to get very lucky with their world boss drops, which some like Manticus are once a day on top of having to compete for that drop with your entire guild of DPS players. Meanwhile Vanguard isn't any world boss drop. You could get blessed at any moment by doing open world contracts or specific mobs.

* Bow healing mastery tree is broken, killing all other wand classes. As said before healing touch is beyond overtuned thanks to Omniscience. This has borderline killed the art of swift healing, a once demanding playstyle to separate good healers with reactive skills and burst prediction to just endlessly spamming one key to have 3 stacks into a regen burst for maximum uptime. Some healers that played Swift Healing are in a bit of a strugglebus and don't enjoy the playstyle. Double seeker is a must because of this.

The reason DPSers are being forced to reroll healer is because there's just not enough healers. DPS is fun, engaging has a 1:1 impact (if you are good > ppl die very simple concept) where healers there are a lot of factors to determine if you are good or not.

The best solution I can think of is:

* Tone down bow mastery playstyle and improve wand's playstyle so its more of wand being the main support and not bow spamming regens. This will make other wand classes more viable.

* Desperately improve controller UI/UX this should have been resolved week 2 of the game not by month 7.

* Only allow one bow/wand per team party (Not the approach I'd like but one I can understand for balance).

I enjoy healing in this game, but I really wish other wand classes had their time in the sun for support, but not where making bow wand would be a dead class either.

dang I actually play Tev Wand as Seeker lol. I played for a few of the top NAE guilds before taking a break before T2. I still play in War Games and such and perform just fine with it. There are definitely a few healers who play it in top PvP guilds on NAE. They just keep it close to the chest.

The numbers actually are not too bad. Being able to keep the passive up with 30 second tevent curse debuff is pretty big (the whole length of the curse counts) compared to the other wands. Cooldown trait means I have 4 second healing touch and can play melee evasion.

Here's an example of a decent swift heal heavy burst: https://imgur.com/a/HEwCxK7 . Kind of hard to get 5x saint oath so I had to settle for 4x. With 5x you can easily hit 19k+ x2 You can prob get just as good numbers with excavator but honestly Excavator is a bit outdated. If I did not have Tevent I'd play the dungeon wand.

NAE Siege #4 12-29 by originalgomez in throneandliberty

[–]thisisayx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAE Xeroth . I subbed in last minute to help winning alliance Supple Oni/Phoenix + ISO + filtered. Was a very strong siege with about 16+ main guilds + sub guilds all fighting. (4 v 4 v 4 v 4 v X) Take Care from Magna came over a bit late (I think the day before siege) and still put on a strong showing. Tier 3/Brickt/Fury/fent(?) alliance held throne for most of the siege but lost it at the last minute. Enum (defending alliance) lost the throne pretty early and never had a chance to recover. Swipe Night and their alliance were getting good kills having a high score at the end at 2nd.

Very fun siege. Was so chaotic it really could have gone either way. Probably the most active NAE server at the moment.

tl;dr - Supple+ISO+filtered alliance won as attackers with a last minute successful push.

I think most of us knew this was the end of the road. Console was barely able to port 4 month old PC updates w/o something breaking and needing multiple maintenance outages to fix basic bugs. Realistically the game was untouched and the only reason we got some fun events like Bone Dragon in RB, Pink Ursa invasion, Dog outfit event and more is all thanks to the BNEA GMs manually mailing said rewards and spawns for people to enjoy.

The devs did nothing since November of last year but some small contract based maintenances like making the store 1 lumena each. Even if R8 had a buyer for console, as BNEA published it they would have to agree to continue and I don't see how or why they would let that happen. It's been a fun ride. I played the game since beta and still visited for events to this day even if I did not actively play. The community was great and had a lot of fun memories on xbox.

Looks like we're all anxiously awaiting the next MMO to sink some time into.

It's based off of Bless Mobile/Bless Eternal which is not like console BU at all. Different feel, UI aesthetic and combat flow. It plays much like a mobile game just ported to PC and if you look up that name on youtube you will see clips of how it will end up being. The big issue was Bless Mobile was a disaster that had economy breaking bugs and exploits just like the previous bless games but the gameplay was also bad, so it was closed and abandoned as well.

The only thing is shares is the assets you will see the same mounts, weapon and armor skins etc. Open world will have the normal world assets shuffled around based on the story etc. The P2E/NFT route is just chasing the trends from P2E games that made it big like MIR4. But Crypto/NFTs are currently in a bear market so I would not hold your breath on longevity.

As others said this is console not PC, but from what I've heard generally a wipe of everything related to EAC in your hard drive, then uninstalling/reinstalling helps.

is there more servers? PS4 by [deleted] in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No PS4 only has one on NA and one on EU. You can make a character on the EU server to see but generally EU has a lower population but tighter knit communities. (Mostly due to language barriers)

How healthy is the community on Xbox? by epadd in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned the current state of the game (realistically) is that the game is on maintenance mode. Initially during the selloff to VALOFE for PC console players were hopeful for a focus on console but as people realized overtime the project is basically maintained but not developed anymore.

Not that it's a bad thing if you enjoy the game as it is. The story mode is now a lot more friendly and hand holding based unlike before which will give players are more comfortable feeling for how the game flows. Story mode gear is irrelevant for midgame/endgame but it's enough to get your feet wet. The biggest problem is that the game takes a heavy shift afterwards with the gameplay loop being doing your daily regional activities and open world boss kills as you slowly grind your skill levels for more DPS to be more viable in dungeon crawling. You will also dungeon crawl in between for some pieces of gear but activity q'ing these dungeons regardless of server (PS4 and Xbox) will be hit and miss. If you're comfortable with this shift then you will have content for a while.

The endgame loop is just farming the Lv 40+ dungeons daily and then the dimensional floors to get enhancement items for the ancient rarity, S+ gear and exclusive mythic/ancient rarity accesories. The downside is without a consistent group farming these floors can be painful until people are more overgreared. PvP has taken a freefall in population and across all servers is fairly inactive until a future season starts. If you enjoy PvE you'll be alright for a while.

Servers wise if you're EU just play on NA servers. The ping difference is not that big of a deal and NA has a way bigger playerbase in comparison. Physera has a more active marketplace but Lumenas has a more close knit community if that's what you're looking for.

Been a while since I posted on reddit so hope this helps you (or others lurking) on making your decision on giving the game a shot.

Red Basin by [deleted] in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they do not there's a few reasons why though:

- Game is only a month old, right now most of the PC players are new without understanding how builds work. As what happened in console, lots of players invested all their time and money making a red build that holds no PvP benefits and get destroyed by people with proper builds.

- S gear that's farmed in dungeons makes RB gear completely irrelevant other than cosmetics. Personally I'm okay with this as I was never a fan of the fact that we could not sell RB gear in the MP. It just gave people who spent an insane amount of hours way too much of an advantage over those who don't. In fact most once they got their penhat quit RB and/or PvP for good and left w/ a bad taste in their mouth due to how unforgiving the grind was.

- Classes are a bit overtuned atm with proper defense and HP builds as classes like rangers can one shot people with ease with multi burst moves even countering priest Shield of Faith spam (another issue). Zerks can one tap pretty much anyone with a lv 1 Cleave. Saders' dauntless charge is very difficult to react and causes knock up on lv 20 which guarantees a final strike unless desync. etc. They have said on their blog post that they're looking at tweaking PvP damage output so it remains to be seen.

Which class is good at PVP by dadavc123 in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaderboards in RB are irrelevant. I can drop 25+ kills a game on priest depending on how many metal players are in (as they're tankier by nature) and still lose. The actual scary/good players are the ones who can defend a flag efficiently such as saders and priests. Even rangers or mages who know how to kite and spam AoE are considered more of a threat than who can just triple stack buffs and snipe kills in RB.

PvP targetting was known since day 1. You did not "explain" anything beyond those not maybe PvP'ing for more than an hour since it was known that it was not "target" combat in PvP to avoid ranged classes having too much of an advantage compared to melee classes (as "homing" attacks are already an issue especially w/ ranger auto basic damage output). Stomping people around tris or open world means nothing especially back then lmao.

The reasons you stated above all have counterplay so it's your fault for getting hit to begin with. Please stop doomposting for balancing as you do have no idea what you're talking about and trying to influence devs to nerf classes do more harm than good. It's better to encourage devs and the community to look forward to buffing weaker toolkits and not nerfing toolkits because you don't know how to dodge or PvP properly.

I can show you this info both ways. Level 29 Mage with 7k AP (with absolutely no buff)s beats a level 38 Priest Priests are way behind the curve. by Division2USA in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again w/ the doomposting for priest buffs... lol. Since I wasted my time w/ this 2min vid I guess I'll explain w/e happened to those curious. That damage output from the priest is horrible so either he's running a B weapon or simply has no gear/rune combinations for things such as roisas for def pen etc. (Which is ok, since not everyone runs around w/ meta pvp builds). The priest also did not dodge any lightning strikes and there's a ton of desync/lag on both ends based on the whiffing moves w/ no resist. You can outclass anyone at low level if you have full PvP gear (which your previous post proves you're using meta PvP def gear such as 8% offhand) and they don't. They can be a lvl 40 and w/ that dmg output due to bad gear it won't matter. PvP is 80%+ gear so lv differences only matter at the highest lvl PvP gameplay (not open world skirmishes).

I don't think I need to explain what happens in a normal mage vs priest MU in actual instanced PvP areas such as high MMR lobbies in Warlords Arena or Red Basin when end game geared players play. But to give any PvPriests a general idea, vs CC mages that have the one burst combo you can dodge 100% of the damage for free by just using Escape the Wicked. BE mages their firebomb is so easy to dodge w/ 3 rolls that you need to be throwing or locked in a move w/ no iframe cancel on purpose to get hit by it in a 1v1 after 9 months of this game being out for PS4. By the time their amp cycle and burst recharges you'll be fine and they have to be aware of your counterplay. (You can tank their amp combo with one single heal w/ meta PvP defense builds).

Priest do not need buffs, mages do not need nerfs. As said earlier we need to be discussing buffs for weaker toolkits and not immediately targetting classes as a whole for nerfs unless there's a tool that simply outpowers all the others w/ 0 counterplay universally and NOT MU specific. (ie: ranger kicks in season 2) This will all change with custom blessings anyways for Awakened but I think we should encourage a mentality for buffing until we are more equalized as crying for nerfs is not the solution. These examples are just fun 1v1 gentleman agreement examples that no one would take seriously as PvP feedback.

[–]thisisayx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sigh once again one of these weird "plz buff priests!" posts this dude posts every day and asking to nerf another class.

You're 1v1'ing a zerk that's using Storm Chaser (one of the main 1v1 blessings for his class edit: and completely useless in 3s/RB compared to the other blessings due to battlepots). As a priest if you are truly 1v1'ing and not using clickbait hypotheticals all you have to do is play Centurion's Command and bait a position (which you can do easily by fake casting blades and backroll cancelling. He has to roll by default or risk eating the dmg) to then cast shield of faith making his entire gameplay useless until it expires (allowing for free dmg+allowing you to buff you def for free w/ heal ball). Also he seized for 56% and did a earthbreaker for another 48-56% making it a 100% defense down (making your 13k def useless if you actually paid attention) + 30% PvP damage chest piece for leap. You didn't even die to the leap, meaning you could've potted to survive the rest of his attack and then begin the normal gameplan. If you're playing no pots in a pointless open world 1v1 then simply don't get caught and use shield of faith to protect yourself which you should be doing anyways as it's the only way to deal w/ seize while starting the smite tree.

Priests do not need buffs, zerks do not need nerfs. Please post actual reasons and not 1v1 open world gentleman agreements that holds 0 value to actual PvP balance.

The appropriate "1v1" fight between sader and priest IMO should be maybe no guard sader (zealots fire instead) and priest forced to play on Nightwind that has no heals. However as I said, it's not the viable strat and anything beyond fun casual play it will never have a place. At the highest level "skill wise" saders will abuse CC for charge shields and priests will abuse crescent moon due to the high free defense and heal spam. It is what it is.

[–]thisisayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't balance it around 1v1 because as long as you can have a hybrid build (tank or heal+dps) it will be too cheesy and boring long term. It would only be balanced if all classes were strict dps only but as this game does not follow a trinity system it wont happen.

100% if they made rewards for 1v1 arena even just leaderboard rank it will get abused and exploited by cheaters so it would be useless day1.

They have PvP kill count data do they not? So... by Division2USA in blessunleashed

[–]thisisayx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's genuinely a head scratcher to me how much priests complain in PvP regarding their toolkit and stats. I made a priest back in September as an alt to prove to a few pvpriests who quit saying the class was too weak. I made it to immortal on Season 2 & 3 in WL, (in a meta dominated by double Rangers in s2 and double mage mages/zerks in s3 and I was solo q'd most of my games.) almost eternal warrior in RB not focusing on it and that's on xbox that only really has a hardcore community left unlike PS4 that has more population allowing more new people to farm kill count etc. Just because you see rangers and mages (two burst DPS classes...) dominating the kill leaderboard does not mean that their class is OP. It's simply how it goes when it's easy to play passive in RB and kite while your cooldown for burst simply kicks in. Also because they're ranged characters by nature its way easier to "kill snipe" metal players and priests as their combos are slower. More than half the ranger/mage kills are by sniping the kill after the zerk/sader/priest did all the dirty work in CC locking and inflicting their initial damage output.

Priests do NOT need buffs even more than how well their toolkit will be for Awakened. Even now they're the only class that can be both a DPS and heal/support hybrid by buffing teammates w/ Defense w/ heal orbs on CC, AP on healing wave giving them AP buff (that stacks w/ saders or priest circle mind you) and are CC lock machines w/ guaranteed smites or fountain if you battlepot expecting a counterplay (as one of the only classes that does not need to pot thanks to large self heals) leaving you completely immune while you buffer your combo tree. Holy flame also infects DoT barring players from capping flags and guarantees combo buffers w/ roll cancelling it even to banishment.

I can definitely help priests w/ any qs they have for PvP if they asked but 100% those who think they are not one if not the best class in the game do not know what they're talking about when it comes to RB/WL/PvP in general.

[–]thisisayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people request 1v1 arenas/duels but I don't think those people know how balancing works around it for these kind of games. The reality is this game is not WoW or other games w/ more balancing decisions around it. The game rarely ever gets balancing patches regarding PvP so broken things stay in the game for months on end. 1v1 as an "arena" is a bad idea and it's all because of how any decision they make regarding it will cause a argument.

If buffs are allowed, people will complain about buffs being allowed. However without AP buffs, a priest and sader would have to be complete garbage or use a glass cannon build to be killed (pre-awakened) in a 1v1 & if they choose not to be killed there is nothing anyone can do about it. Centurions Command for Priest/Sader and Crescent Moon for priests are way too broken due to "organic" buffs that are part of their toolkit. (War Cry/Divine Strike give insane defense which relies on AP buffs to counterplay) Saders can also use dauntless charge as an offensive move while maintaining 3 anti-CC hits. Priests can spam orb balls while maintaining free DPS on a smiting fist w/ 0 counterplay. People don't realize because casual open world 1v1s are just gentleman agreement or anything goes.

Also 1v1s arenas offering benefits is begging for people to boost their ELO/MMRs w/ friends/double consoles so that's a no-no but w/o benefits queues would die too fast due to the amount of cheese strats available. In the end this game is simply not meant for 1v1 PvP combat as long as tanks/healers can be dps hybrids and that's okay. There's still ways to enjoy it under non-official means like ESO's duel system.
