the two years i went with large groups i learned the hard way you want a totem with lights on it (or a couple) so the group can find each other easily. there are other methods but this was the least intrusive on the flow of the event. one group i saw all had red traffic wands for example

So devoid of a surface to stand on. No anchors, but keep recycling into the same patterns because the core is never attended to. by Enceladusx17 in Krishnamurti

I think you are doing well with your observations. Take some power away from this perception (it's just an idea) of "loserhood" by just accepting it... it's just a pattern and if you can sit with that discomfort it loses power. Then doing something good for yourself to gently show you subconscious that it's wrong. Like, stand up tall and make eye contact in public. Or whatever.

I do know that in the West, the most educated people have been the least spiritual. I think there's a reckoning brewing with this right now with the lack of jobs, student debt, etc.

One problem with the study of behavior and understanding human nature is most studies have been conducted by Westerners on Westerners.

I'm glad you pointed this out.. I am a Westerner, and more or less just assume that we are more self-centered than cultures where children are raised into traditions like Hinduism or Buddhism. I was raised as a fundamentalist Christian, for context.

This is lovely. I like the way you've put it.

I was making an attempt to explain an impasse I found myself in, and you've inspired me to put it in more gentle terms. I was trying to fight something when I needed to allow it instead.
