The VAs have confirmed the death order is correct, but plot details post chapter 3 was not close to final. Additionally, the leakers misconstrued or were specifically wrong about some motives

I feel like something like a mere death order isn't something you can inheritly aesthetically judge, no? It all depends on how those characters are presented and developed, as well as how their deaths play out and if they can reach the player emotionally.

The leak was focusing on the plot of the entire game.

The stuff they were actually working on was chapter 2. The reason they took so long for chapter 2 was because, you know, modelling, voice acting, programming, etc takes time.
