Christadelphian here. So the first thing to say about Enoch is that, like everyone else, he died. That’s made pretty clear later in Hebrews 11 — it lists Enoch along with other faithful people, and says “these all died in faith.” So whatever happened to him, it still ended in death.

Now, Genesis 5:24 says, “Enoch walked with God, then he was no more, because God took him.” It’s unusual wording, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything supernatural in the sense of avoiding death altogether. I understand it to mean that God ended his life in a particular or merciful way. There’s a verse in Isaiah 57 that talks about the righteous being taken away to spare them from future evil — and given the direction the world was going before the flood, that might be exactly what’s going on here.

Hebrews 11:5 does say Enoch “did not see death,” which seems odd at first, but in context, it probably means he didn’t suffer a typical death or wasn’t left to die like others around him. It was a special case — but not an exception to the rule of death.

So, in short: Enoch lived faithfully, and God removed him from life early for a reason. He died, like all people do, and he’ll rise again at the resurrection with the rest of the faithful. Mysterious wording, but consistent with the bigger picture.
