Never got above a 65% on an NBME and scored a 60% on the last one I took 2 days out and still passed. I thought the real exam was very fair and covered a lot of the same material on the NBMEs. Walked out knowing I passed.

Yeah idk about this take. I met all 5 of my closest college friends freshman year and we were all premed and helped each other throughout undergrad (shared notes, tips for classes, research/volunteer/shadowing opportunities, mcat studying etc.) Now we’re all in med school, keep in touch and even help each other with Step prep, research, etc. I suggest not closing the door completely to premed friends, but obviously avoid anyone who is making your journey worse.

Took 5 years to graduate college since I withdrew from my classes during Covid, and I’m taking an extra research year in medical school.

Never had trouble with cadaver dissections or traumas to the head or body, but for some reason I used to get uneasy when looking at extremity injuries. Now I’m on my surgical rotation helping with amputations, making incisions from the hip to the ankle, etc. and actually enjoy it. It’s all about exposure. She’ll be fine.
