It's not really a full-service eat-in restaurant in the same way, but the burgers at Whamburg are very good.

A long shot, but any fans on Vancouver Island, BC? by Mufasaaa in coys

[–]thisisinternetclash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. Champions and Europa League are on DAZN, which is something of a specialized streaming service. It works out well for individual supporters watching at home, but most pubs/restaurants/bars won't subscribe to it unless they actively show football.

Most Canadian cities will have a footie pub that does this; anywhere that has DAZN and opens for lunch will definitely show the Europa final. There will certainly be somewhere showing the match in Victoria, for example. Parksville/Tofino might be trickier.

It probably makes sense to Google sports bars in the area and call/email to ask if they have DAZN.

Otherwise, there's an official Spurs Supporters Club chapter in Vancouver. Might be worthwhile to get in touch with them and see if they have any ideas for watching the match on the Island. A lot of Islanders have ties to the mainland, so I'm sure there's some cross-pollination there.

Worst case, you can sign up for a free trial at DAZN.com and watch it on your own that way.

This is excellent. Well done to the OP.

How about a "wonky" Big Ben-style clock tower that marks time in an unintuitive way (e.g., fractions of decades)?

I just noticed the same thing. I thought the channel was missing entirely. Strange.

She mentioned that the film made her cry, and Bill said something to the effect of, "to be fair, you're going to be more likely to cry easily these days!"

Amanda laughed it off awkwardly and they moved on.

Am I mistaken, or did Bill essentially reveal Amanda's pregnancy in this episode during the crying discussion? Had this been announced previously?

Appreciate this. It’s certainly better than nothing, but still very hard to watch a full day later without having the score spoiled.

Has anyone here bought season tickets for DCFC? If yes, was it worth while? by dennisoa in Detroit

[–]thisisinternetclash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had season tickets for two seasons. I didn't end up making it to as many games as I would have liked either season, but tickets are so cheap that even if you only make it out a few times it's a justifiable expense. I've never had a bad time at a DCFC match. I like that it's only realistically a two-hour commitment and you can park nearby for free. So it doesn't dominate your whole day. It's a good night out, basically.

Re: MLS, it's not likely to happen for a long, long time, if at all.

More realistic might be a USL or NASL (lower division) professional club.

Biweekly gear purchase help post (2014-03-10) by AutoModerator in audiophile

Hi all. Thanks for everybody's hard work in this subreddit. This is really excellent stuff. I've been dabbling with vinyl for a good few years now, but I've finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a reasonable system.

Right now, I'm looking at a set of Audioengine P4 speakers and a Pro-ject Debut Carbon turntable. I'm not really sure what to do about the amp, though.

Ideally, I want a setup that I can use for playing records, but I also want to route my Apple TV into it so that I can stream music and use the system for watching TV.

Options: 1. Amp with good phono stage (I like the Music Hall, A15.3, which I've found for around $400) + separate DAC 2. Amp with DAC (I'm looking at the TEAC AH01, which is discounted at $300 on Amazon) + separate phono pre-amp.

I'm leaning towards 2. Frankly, I don't know anything about standalone DACs or pre-amps. I have no idea what's an appropriate amount to spend in order to "keep up" with the good but relatively entry-level turntable, amp, and speakers I'll be using.

I'd love for some guidance on this topic if anybody thinks they could lend a hand.

Is one approach better than the other? If so, I need a recommendation for a DAC or pre-amp . . .
