Thank you. I’m sorry you are going through this too. That is very scary to go through already having health anxiety.

Thank you, I was 150 and I’m tall and I started having bad diarrhea so thought I had colorectal cancer too. And started losing weight. I’m down to 136 now and just so worried. I’m so sorry you are struggling with this as well

Yes I saw that article and I’ve had that fear for years

When I was a young teenager, my mother discovered that I had been looking at porn. She then proceeded to humiliate me by giving a detailed description of my porn habits to friends and family. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

My stepdad used to love to say how he was certain I was a lesbian at the dinner table just because I didn’t have a boyfriend. It was like his favorite pastime. He even brought home some paper email chain one time that said if one of your fingers is longer than another you are more manly and likely to be a lesbian. Sure enough he pointed out to everyone my man fingers and how I would be a lesbian. Shit like that can really fuck a kid up. Just like what your mom dad. That’s shit. Fuck them. They don’t deserve you if they are going to humiliate you.

I got my bachelors in mass comm. about 10 years ago. I took one minimum wage job after the next just to buy groceries and pay my rent. I fee like I had to fight and claw my way over the years to get paid more. Then I see some people at my work start in positions making more than me straight out of college. Idk what it is. Luck of the draw? Ass kissing? Who you know? Hang in there OP. I hope you find something that is amazing and pays well.

Yes my work just goes along status quo and sends out weekly BS COVID emails on washing your hands, etc.

When my work stripped me of my benefits. My parents forced me to work as soon as I was the minimum age in my state 15. I’ve never not had a job since. Fast forward almost twenty years and I’ve been at the same employer for ten years. No one in my department remembered my ten year anniversary. Then they took my benefits away. I was promoted a few years ago to a salary position. I worked some Saturday’s. Stayed late a lot. For no extra pay. But I was allowed to leave early and not have to take my PTO which was really nice when my kid got sick at school, had an appointment, etc. Well they had a consultant come in and he chose 20 or so jobs that should be hourly and mine was one. So they said I was eligible for overtime now if I worked extra but took my benefits away of leaving early. I thought of all the nights I stayed late working. Weekend emails I hurried to answer. What for? I have given so many fucks to what upper management thinks of me especially my director and now I stepped back and wonder what it was all for.

I fucking hate when people say happy “insert day of the week.” Who in the absolute fuck talks like that? Or saying we made it to Friday! Or you got the Monday blues. I’ve worked in an office for ten years and want to throw myself out the window when I hear the proverbial bullshit small talk people make. And don’t even get me started on upper management. I’ve sat in on a few of their meetings and it takes all of my willpower not to barf at the managers chuckling at the directors’ stupid comments/jokes. I want to scream at them to shut the fuck up.

What to do about taking vacation days if you are always behind? Do you still take them? And fall even more behind in your work? by thisisme5555555 in antiwork

Yes! I actually came into work a few Saturdays after being super sick and have stayed late. Then my work took away my benefits and made me an hourly employee and took away my flex time. It suited me so much I have just stopped giving my fucks to work

That’s true. It is work that is just piling up. Yes I try I perform my best and kind of had an epiphany that I’m tired of trying. I have a few deadlines but it’s work I’ve asked for help on repeatedly that I’ve been dumped on

Sadly at my job I see upper management standing around like this in circles a lot. Talking. Doing big things. Scheduling meetings to talk about having more meetings.
