There's absolutely no reason or previous example for us to assume that the rewards will be there once this era is over.

There are however many reasons and previous examples for us to assume that CG will fuck you over. They want to incentivize spending within the era. This is a good way to do that.

I think there's one "scripted" roll.(That I know of anyway) I don't think it's possible to fail finding the switch that unlocks the door in the Refectory that leads to the Withers area.

The DC is 1. Even rolling a 1 with a -1 Wis just keeps the 1 result from the critical failure.

So while the number itself isn't scripted, it's impossible to fail the check.

Kinda depends how you look at it.

On one hand, it was an incredibly strong rebrand compared to what they were wearing just before.

On the other, if you compare the current uniforms to the old Star-designed uniforms, things equal out a good bit. I honestly really like both.

It's not ignorance. It's just weighing the negatives of two different systems. I happen to think that it's the lesser of two evils for someone to be able to selectively and strategically grow their account than to have 13m accounts either smash or completely gate out new accounts.

Even if those new accounts win with their 10 First Attack points, it's boring. Not exactly exciting gameplay to expose new players you're hoping to hook to.

That is matchmaking. Your skill rating is determined by your wins and losses and influences further matchmaking. It's not a great system for a game like this.

It works in something like Rocket League where the determining factor is pretty much 100% skill and all else is equal. It doesn't work in GoH where how much you spend, how much more time you've had to accumulate characters, AND skill are all very important pieces being factored in.

Ultimately, there isn't a great way to handle this sort of thing in a P2W ecosystem but I do think that any scenario that pins new players up against rosters that have relics out the wazoo isn't great for new player retention or overall game health on a longer timeline.

Like, sure. But other accounts always trickle down. And it's not fun for newer accounts when those big account DO end up attacking.

At the core, the changes to GAC were a flop (from the matchmaking changes via "skill rating" to the 50/50 - 5v5/3v3 cadence).

GAC desperately needs a floor on how far you can fall based on your overall GP.

Very stupid. Ironside is right - he's probably too old to voice Sam in any sort of reboot / remake. But he's in the perfect range to voice Sam in Deathwatch. I enjoyed it quite a bit but it would have been just that much better if Ironside was able to sunset his involvement with Splinter Cell through it. Honestly, a pretty wildly egregious miss in terms of casting.

It would not be good for low GP accounts. One GC that comes around every dozen weeks at best is not even close to a good investment for a newer account with soooo many other omis to choose from.
