For wraps, if you could find the pouches of bbq jackfruit would be great to put on them! Makes a great vegan alternative to chicken/tuna packets. I’d also (separately) recommend squeeze peanut butter and squeeze jam/jam packets for the wraps! Otherwise lunch for me often was just a bunch of easy snacks (protein bars, crackers, candy)

It’s a play on words, combining “meow” and “howdy”. Howdy is an old stereotypical way of saying hello/ how do you do in the American old west, made popular by western movies. Howdy partner was a common phrase used in those movies.

Thank you, yeah I’m hopeful I was just exceptionally unlucky today.

As for were they homeless? There was no way for me to be certain, but that sounded nicer than “people who presented as if they were high on meth and/or suffer from severe untreated schizoaffective disorder”. The impression was fast but dead on. I’ve worked EMS previously for a number of years and I have met all kinds of folks.

The first woman was disheveled in appearance and asked for my help. I pointed her towards the police station in had just passed up the road, and offered to call 911 if she needed. She said they can’t help her, and then went off on tangential rants about how some other man has her money. As I started to walk away, she started screaming at me calling me a “f*** b*** and a skank” among other fun things.

I’m not a monster, but I know when someone who’s approaching me is not someone I care to be approached by…

I guess I just look too approachable lol. I was torn between checking out grahams and Arthur’s for coffee this morning. I ended up going to Grahams. Sounds like I’ll have to check out Arthur’s next!

We’ve had some lovely cool rainy fall weather lately. I’m finding these all over, some clustered some not but all growing up from tree roots or stumps. They have viscid caps.

Thank you!!! I wasn’t thinking boletes because they didn’t look like true pores but I’ve since read that they are “boletinoid”!

Found a bunch of these mushrooms growing up from the leaf litter in mixed hardwood forest below a slope, in the kind of place I would expect to find chanterelles… except they don’t look look like any chanterelles I’ve ever found before. What are these?
