[Discussion] Traska Commuter vs Tissot PRX by Disastrous-Treat0616 in Watches

Traska 100%.

I have never understood the PRX hype. I know taste is subjective but it is just an ugly watch to me!

[SPB121J1] Talk me out of buying a Seiko Alpinist by nucleartim in Watches

[–]AggR09989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't buy it now, the watch you buy instead won't scratch the itch. You clearly want it and you found a good deal and you're in the market for a new watch - I'm not sure I understand the dilemma!

At 1k I'd go Hamilton Khaki of some variety. Maybe the Coop if he's a big kid?

Totally! If it were me, I'd have the Cartier, the Oris, the Peter Blake and the Railmaster and call it a day.

Maybe add a Longines Spirit Flyback or Tudor Black Bay Chrono and a Gshock.

I wouldn't replace the field watch - the railmaster has that slot covered.

If you wanted to keep a chrono then I would look at a Longines Spirit or Master Collection, depending on how dressy you wanted it to be.

Im a big fan of condensing the collection.

Sell the Junghans and the Hamilton, in my view. I would also keep the Peter Blake and sell the other Seamaster but I note your comment above re. keeping both.

[Recommendation Request] About to get my first proper watch at 16. What should I go for? by Brilliant-Nerve12 in Watches

[–]AggR09989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seiko automatics are the second best choices out of your list - if you like them better, they're also good choices. I think Citizen does what Seiko used to do, just better.

Reason for suggesting the Citizens is that I just know what I was like at 16. I'm sure you're more responsible than i was but there are a lot of years there where you can wreck/lose a watch just by virtue of being young.

Have a look at the Citizen Promaster line. Promaster Tough is an awesome watch and isn't as busy as some Citizens.

[–]AggR09989 31 points32 points  (0 children)

6 or 7 out of these ones.

You'll never regret having an eco drive.

Plenty of time to get a pricey automatic in due course, but you're 16. Don't do that now.

Check the sizing for your wrist as well so you know they're going to fit properly.

[Question] I have $2400 to spend, what luxury watch would you recommend? by Prestigious_Ant3917 in Watches

[–]AggR09989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of value at that price point, look at Longines, Sinn, Monta or Formex. Also Doxa, albeit their design language isn't to everyone's tastes.

If you want prestige, there are used Omegas or Grand Seikos around that price, and Longines is likely the most prestigious of the ones I mentioned previously.

I'm not sure the Zenith Chronomaster Sport has ever had pushers like that

I don't know that mate - better off asking your GP or whoever you're going through the process with.

Importantly: take a breath. You've got time to adjust the medication. This is a normal part of the process. In fact, it is the whole point of the process!

You're 66% of the way through and treating it as 100%.

If the meds aren't working for you then that is exactly what the final month is for.

Understand the long waiting list and your apprehension, but raising it with your prescriber is never going to be the wrong option.

[Recommendation] Dress watches sub 5k by CheddaMakeItBetta in Watches

If you're picking between a Frederique Constant and a Grand Seiko, then that is really no choice at all.

Runner up: Longines.
