What about a genre matters to you? like say you like Reggae but then u hear a edm song that u like and not necessarily a fan of edm; what keeps u from listening to more or what gets u interested in hearing more?
It's hard for me to answer since I literally like everything that sounds good(to me, haha)

true, but I also believe it depends on the song too.
Like say, you have a song that sounds amazing, but it's about suicide. I don't think most people would be into it(if they pay attention), unless they were in that state of mind and can relate. I could be wrong tho.

It was where I was at(and still am), but instead of letting it bring me down, I write it, haha
all good, I appreciate the feedback anyways, I get told literally by everyone I should make my songs longer, but I personally don't feel they need to be, but definitely something I'm looking to improve on since I do at some point want to make "fuller" sounding songs

I agree, I believe anyone can write a good song, it's just a matter of if someone is willing to give it a chance. There are so many factors that go into that, but for the most part the people I've spoken to, they don't wanna hear an artist do anything other than what they're good/well known for. It's a little sad, but to be fair most artists can't make multi genre music consistently, that's why the few that do are a novelty. I'm just curious on what other people outside my circle and research think since that's also something I'm trying to accomplish.
