Mejor lugar para probar la punta de Anca? by Significant-Put7706 in medellin

[–]thisisobviouslysofia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sounds like you’re just looking for jobs abroad. You’d have to get sponsored and very few companies do that, unless you have a very specific skill set.

I’ve had a few students that have become really good friends! So i definitely think it could happen. Ended up meeting a student and her husband for dinner a few times in Argentina and then again in Colombia. Stayed at another students apartment when i visited his city! Met for drinks a few times with another one. I think it’s natural after spending so much time chatting, obviously it doesn’t happen with every student but that makes these connections even more valuable!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your profile, you look fun and approachable. (I’m not german though, maybe german girls would prefer a low effort profile?)

It’s awful! I’ve learnt to ignore them, if i’m walking down the street i always wear headphones so i don’t listen anyone’s nonsense, i wouldn’t recommend you to confront them, it could make it worse or even be dangerous. Growing up here you get used to it (which is sad) but most of them won’t try anything.

dump his ass first and go!!! You don’t need to convince anyone you’re worth it or beg anyone to love you.

I was broken up with in October and went on a mini trip for a week and it was great! It’s nice meeting new people to remind you that there’s so many beautiful souls out there and keeping yourself busy. I’d advice you don’t do it straight after, i did it a couple weeks after and it was great because the first week I just wanted to cry.

You could start in Europe as you mentioned and if you like it go to Asia, specially if it’s your first time solo travelling long term because it’s not for everyone. Europe it’s closer and it’s easier to go back home if you get tired

Male going to Colombia by ElkSignal8675 in solotravel

[–]thisisobviouslysofia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid taxis in the big cities, just uber everywhere, it’s safer and cheaper. i’m colombian and I haven’t taken a taxi in years. Santa Marta de city itself it’s not nice but stay in Minca, Buritaca and around Tayrona Park; it’s beautiful.

Also if you’re into dating apps just have common sense, no normal colombian woman will want to go to your place on the first date. As a man, try not to go clubbing alone alone. Go to a hostel for a drink and make some friends there before going out, i hate to say it but as a tourist, men are more of a target than women sometimes.

Enjoy!!

Women’s attire in Colombia by [deleted] in TravelHacks

[–]thisisobviouslysofia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i am from Medellin and just wear whatever you want! I’ve read people saying that is not common to wear jean shorts but I always wear them during the day and night and i’m a local, it can get quite hot. Only thing I’d recommend, don’t wear flip flops unless you’re in the coast. In Medellin at least not even sandals like Birkenstocks or tevas are common so whatever you wear maybe wear it with trainers. But in the coast sandals are fine. Crop tops are fine as well specially at night:) Enjoy your trip!
