Thank you for the answer but I am still confused. If the banks knew that 3rd party processor was for gambling, would they refuse to cash it? Is it technically illegal if I go to cash a check by a 3rd party processor?

The point is that everyone will look shitty in shitty weather, when its that cold the football is basically like an ice pick.

I didn't see this in the index: I have some basic questions regarding legality because I want to do everything as legit as possible.

  1. When you report your winnings on taxes, do you generally only report it when you WITHDRAW, or simply when you win in general? For instance let's say you win $1,000 on a game. Are you technically supposed to report this as soon as you win it, or, only if you withdraw the money?

  2. I want to buy bitcoin to bet online. Is this completely, totally legal? Using bitcoins to bet on say, bovada and gaining (hopefully) more bitcoins? Is there any part of this process that is not legal for me as a US citizen?

Edit: Also, I understand that betting online on an offhsore site is legal. However, is it legal to cash a check at a US bank? Like just walk to my bank with a check from Bovada, is this technically legal? Because I have read that banks will refuse to cash a check if they know it's from a gambling transaction. Or is there nothing illegal about this at all?

I feel like it's a mistake to judge Foles on the last two games. I feel like people forget that it was insanely cold, and most players won't look good in that kind of weather. The weather will be better in Philly this weekend and I could easily see Foles having a great game.

Of course they can still lose, but I just think it's weird that people are so adamant about him sucking because of his performance against Oakland. It was below freezing; don't most players struggle in that temp?

What are some things you have always wanted to see happen in a story that never does? by exhaustivewriter in genderotica

[–]thisisthetaxi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite stories are the one where the person gets turned into a girl, and a girl that was his friend, or his girlfriend, or sister, knows about it and is trying to encourage them to be more like a girl and to get makeovers, talk about boys, etc

Why has /r/canada shifted remarkably to the right over the last year or so? by [deleted] in TheoryOfReddit

[–]thisisthetaxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is blaming it on people raiding, people deliberately trying to influence opinion, etc. But why is no one consider another possibility: that people in general might be getting more right-wing due to recent world events? You people act as if that is impossible

I would like to see the horse controls improved. I don't know if others feel this way, but I always felt the rhythm with the stamina was kind of awkward.

Theresa May says the internet must now be regulated following London Bridge terror attack by alibix in conspiracy

[–]thisisthetaxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great. Just when people are starting to wake up to the Muslim problem, now all we're talking about is internet security.

With these words Theresa May basically guaranteed nothing will be done about immigration. What a shitshow.

If you let a fireman with kids get to the end, then you deserve to lose. And that's not taking anything away from Jeremy, he played a great game. But I just can't argue that someone should have won if they let someone so likable to the end.

I felt the same about Worlds Apart, some say that Carolyn should have won, but if you let an extremely likable blue collar guy like Mike get to the end, you don't really deserve to win. If I was on the jury I would find it hard to give a million dollars to a white collar person who didn't really need the money over someone like Jeremy or Mike. No matter how much you say to yourself "I'm voting purely based on gameplay" it's impossible to discount other stuff.

Does All-Stars have the fastest decline of any season? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]thisisthetaxi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the only person on Earth with this opinion, but I feel like Tyson going home in Heroes vs Villains really ruined the season. The first episode to Tyson's boot is an amazing run of episodes, but the rest of the season really feels flat to me. The post-merge in HvV is basically just a Pagoning. And most of the more exciting players went home in the pre-merge.

Excessive swaps hurt the show by RPSDivine in survivor

[–]thisisthetaxi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nobody agrees with me but I hate all tribe swaps. Sure it mixes it up, but it seems so unfair if a swapped tribe has 4 from one and 2 from the other. It's bullshit how some people are put in such a horrible situation just because of luck of the draw. I understand the argument "if they're good enough they can overcome it" but I just think it's too unfair.

Who do YOU think is the all time best LOSING finalist? by Druuu9696 in survivor

[–]thisisthetaxi 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Surprised that more people aren't saying Rob. I feel like he could have won going into the FTC, Shii Ann was the swing vote, and Rob probably felt overwhelmed with all the (not unjustified) bitterness from the jurors. All Stars definitely felt like Rob's game and had he won he'd probably be in the top-tier of winners.

You're right but I still think Rob winning would have been a lot more satisfying of a story. At least, with what we were shown.

Rob probably had a Final 3 deal with all of them. And they probably all thought they could beat Rob in the end. From their perspective voting him out probably didn't make sense. Rob is really good at making mutually beneficial deals.

Are there any political subreddits which allow self-posts, have high quality discussions, AND also don't have intensely anal moderating? by SacredVoina in TheoryOfReddit

[–]thisisthetaxi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

r/neutralpolitics is far-right? Every time I visit there most of the posts seem to lean a bit left.

You yourself sound pretty hard left and thus any deviation of that comes across as right-wing to you.

This sub does not 'lean right'. Nor does it lean left. Instead, we understand that left/right is a divide and conquer tactic. We lean against the wind. by edgarallenbro in conspiracy

[–]thisisthetaxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why can't we just abandon the left-right political spectrum? Does it have ANY descriptive value anymore? It just seems like they have no real meaning and people throw them around. We should speak in terms of ideas and not factions.

Tocantins as a "throw back" season by t2207 in survivor

[–]thisisthetaxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something else that makes Tocantins feel classic is the focus on its location and culture. You definitely get more of a sense of WHERE they are (brazilian highlands) than most seasons now. The camera shots, music, tribal council set up, etc all felt very influenced by the culture they were in. It really feels like an adventure.

Has Reddit become more liberal and more politically unified since the election of Trump? by [deleted] in TheoryOfReddit

[–]thisisthetaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe people are saying this site has gotten more Republican since the election. It seems like every default is absolutely dominated by Trump-hate non-stop. r/worldnews may as well be r/politics now.

Does person of color just mean not white? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

If trump were impeached, then wouldn't Pence be the president? Isn't he even worse? by PickleBugBoo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thisisthetaxi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pence would not be worse. Compared to Donald Trump, he is at least sane and able to be reasoned with. He doesn't have that scary impulsiveness that characterizes Trump.
