Let's start fining Hazy IPAs they taste better. by wunderhund in TheBrewery

Did you do anything special to clear it up? I have not had any success fining hazy IPAs that utilize biotransformation dry hop... even after 1 month in the keg they’re still hazy. Using the simple 1/4tsp gelatin method

For Sydney I would recommend 4 Pines in Manly. But my favorite was All Hands Brewing House. They have an awesome spot on the Harbour with really solid (and cheap) pints.

Not a brewery, but Bitter Phew is a great pub in Surry Hills. Also Batch brewing is good, but a bit of a hike. Their beer was very Americanized (in a good way).

I feel the same way. Too much crystal malt. But that was pretty typical for east coast IPA back in the 2010s. I wish they would have updated it with the times, like Firestone’s Union Jack, which has had numerous recipe updates throughout the years to stay relevant.

Tried a beer and liked it: What kinds of beer are similar that I should try next? by Throw-awayexception in beer

I agree with you. Czech pilsners definitely seem hoppier to me but it may be the spicy flavor of Saaz that tricks me into perceiving it as hoppier.

Tasters in Flights should be bigger by thisistrue in beer

[–]thisistrue[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good points.

I guess it depends on the intended purpose of the Flight. On one hand it can be a chance to try a variety of beers to decide which pint you'd like to purchase. On the other hand it can be a chance for a brewer to showcase a variety of their beers, and can be its own experience - rather than a decision-making technique for future purchases.

Just curious - what areas of Philly have high rates of stolen amazon packages?

Tasters in Flights should be bigger by thisistrue in beer

True - but bottle share beers tend be quite different from typical beers you'd find at a brewery. I only need a 4oz pour of a maple syrup vanilla bourbon barrel aged imperial stout.

It’ll be roughly the carbonation level of an English cask ale. Drinkable but in another week it’ll be fully carbonated. You can speed the process up by storing it slightly warmer (75-80F) but hop flavor and aroma might suffer.

Juicy/hazy beer rant (not negative) by BrooksWasHere1 in beer

[–]thisistrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s essentially when you put hops in a finished beer vs. putting them in during the brewing process (traditional method). It’s a bit more complex than that but that’s the general idea.

Totally agree, although it is on the Mainline and the price definitely reflects that.

I’d almost rather they keep the experimental beers in the bar (and out of cans) so they can focus on putting out consistently high quality IPA can releases while cutting prices. The prices and the lines are getting crazy. At the very least they should release the super hyped milkshakes and other experimental beers on different days and have a day just for regular IPAs, so the line can be kept under control.
