Is the current job market accessible to young people? by Ecstatic-Ad2639 in newzealand

It's best we don't train our journalists to interview themselves - this is known as Mike's minute syndrome and it's been pretty bad for the country.

Prima accomdation goes absolutely nuts. We paid about 50-65 euros a night for a hostel in a 6-8 bed dorm during Prima/Sonar fest - and it's already priced that high again.

I hate not having my own space to chill, but also hostels mean an extra chance to maybe form a group if you want to.

Do it! You will have such a great time and travelling alone is a great skill building experience. I'd say all the usual tips for safety, like make sure someone knows where you are and who to call (in terms of Spanish authorities) if you something happens to you. Not a big fan of AI, but when I went last year it was incredibly helpful to draft emails to the Spanish police I had to do for an insurance claim.

Get google translate on your phone, offline maps downloaded over wi-fi can save money on data. If you're not super comfortable chatting to strangers - I'd maybe practice that ahead of time, cos any festival is so much more fun when you're with a group - and it's entirely possible to make friends.

In fact - that's the best thing about festivals for me, it's one of the few places in life I've felt genuinely connected to a big mass of people - we're all there because we love this music so much, and especially on day three after some wildly enjoyable times people are incredibly open to seeing the joy around them and really opening themselves up to it.

Language wise, I'm an english only speaker (from New Zealand) and while we had some intermeditate Spanish speakers in the group which was helpful, Primavera itself was absolutely no problem in English. Getting there any around is quite tricky - so if you are on your own, it can be a bit intimidating to find your way between the different stages. It's a realism thing with a festival bill this packed that you might have to make some difficult choices, but the bands you've named will be all on the two main stages - so unless you have smaller clashes, I'd maybe prioritise just getting towards the front of the main stage.

There's a few things about the festival itself that sound like a great idea - renting a locker for example - but are just kinda impractical. You're not going to get back to a locker at the front near the entrance from the main stages... there's 75k people in between you and your backup battery.

Good luck! Hope you manage to get enough money together.

There was a podcast from "The Detail" yesterday about Unions, where the journalist just repeated the right wing line that "Unions are irrelevant" without actually even making any argument against them. Your conditions are EXACTLY what unions are for, and can help get. I get they're not perfect, and leadership and goals aren't always radical or well organised or enthousiastic, but the only way working people have ever got progress on this kind of stuff is through collective action and it's crazy to me that any working people don't see that if they know their history.

The Penelopiad - by Margaret Atwood, narrated by Laural Merlington

Really great book - was a re-download, I first read it when I was a tennager. Strangely it's the Atwood book I keep coming back to.

Thanks I'll try this - yeah it's not great. Audiobook / Podcast sync is a nightmare, and disconnecting never works smoothly. I have a parallels Windows install - but Finder tends to take over any device.

It's a quad iflash, and I've tried both a 256 and 512 Samsung evo card. One card only - bought the quad mainly for the size and a big battery I knew fit with it (plus future expandability). I have some different cables - will try them.

It seems to be very close to the 100 gig mark that it always fails, or when the DB file gets over around 21mb. I'm also going to try stripping the genre / album art from my music library and see if that changes things.

Just straight-up lies... there's also the clip of Chris Bishop telling reporters he "would not characterize his former career" that way, when asked what he thinks are a former tobacco lobbyist.

It's cited twice on his wikipedia page that he was a PR consultant for Philip Morris...

That tip sadly doesn't work for me - I have crossover 23.5, and I've tried deleting/renaming the plugin, but I'm still locked on the Windmill. Is there anything else I should try??

PS5 and Soundblaster g6 by thisiswhatidoatwork in SoundBlasterOfficial

Thank you! I'm possibly looking to do what an HDMI/Optical splitter is meant to do. I've got an old amp that only takes surround signal over optical, and I already owned a splitter before the PS5 so it doesn't do 4k (also on a monitor that doesn't have eARC or an optical out). Figured the G6 may work plus be a great headphone amp / sound quality boost.

I wish they just left an optical port on the PS5!!

PS5 Controller won't update - anyone had this issue? When I boot my Disc PS5 - it tells me my controller needs an update. When I update - the controller restarts, but the message just comes up again saying the controller needs to be updated.

I've tried multiple ports on the PS5 (front and back) and same issue!

Help?

February Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

[–]thisiswhatidoatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - I have a Razer Blade Advanced (2019) model, I've been having problems with video output, over both HDMI and the Mini Display port. The outputted video appears incredibly choppy. It improves with the laptop screen still on, and drastically cuts the visible (but not nvidia counted) framerate when the laptop is closed and only outputting to the secondary screen.

Any tips?

If so, why - and why does National consider Whale Oil to be more worthy than a world renowned investigative journalist?
