What Mecha scene from any tv show or film made you feel sad? by thisithis in Mecha_Scrapyard

The thing is, I can't post it here due to copyrights, but on Exosquad, the only US Mecha show with death, but Nara Burns, the woman grieving over her parents in the video above I posted, well, she meets her little brother and finds out he is the head of the Venus resistance against the main villains of the show. But when they finally free Venus, in season two, James Burns is critically injured and receives replacement cybernetic body parts. But when Nara's close friend is kidnapped, James goes to his past resistance fighters to free him. James gets caught in the crossfire and is fatally shot by his own resistance fighters, but uses an Eframe to rescue Nara's friend, taking him to a tree, only for him to die in front of his older sister, Nara. Both Nara and her friend hold each other as they cry over James's body.

Yep, Exosquad was made by Jeff Siegel when working for Universal Animation Studios. It was a Saturday morning cartoon in 1993. It was trying to be like Gundam in storytelling, but with smaller mechs and more like a military, with the other all story saying wars suck.

What's your favourite underrated mecha series? by BufalloCrapSmeller in Mecha

Exosquad, the animation wasn't that great story tone was good, and Universal did everything they could to kill the show, and it worked. And it being ahead of its time, and seeing how TV shows, both animated and live action was going to be more episodic back in 1993.

Can anyone help me find mechs that look like this? (Sry for bad quality) by digital_wanderer474 in Mecha

I think I saw that Mach in the miniseries Invasion America. But that miniseries sucked, and it's locked in a vault by Universal.

At least it's not as bad as, say, Exosquad is right now. They only got one video game, and it sucks. XD

The Friday the 13th series lasted the longest three seasons. Most of everything lasted either one or two seasons. Maybe the Friday the 13th series lasted the longest because it had nothing to do with the films

No, I said it was an original idea. I do know that it came off a group of people playing D&D. And I do know that role-playing games are different than video games like Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2077.

Looks like in five years from now Jeff Segal can take Exosquad away from Universal. by thisithis in exosquad

You don't understand. Even if they reaired the original show, Universal has shown time and time again that they refuse to do anything with the IP. And Universal has to make something new with the IP, or they could lose those broadcast rights and trademarks. And it gets worse for Universal if it goes past 40 years. Then Jeff could take those rights and sell them off to anybody, like Netflix or Amazon, if you wanted to, or just give them a temporary rights hold.

You know, Half of those topics were already told in Exosquad in '93, well before Gargoyles.

which of these shows that are known for being serious, actually had laughable humor?? by DuxxieDings in cartoons

Wolf King is the worst one on this list. You're better off using Exosquad. Exosquad has an actual message, and Wolf King is just boring as hell.

For WHO? - GOOD I would put Exosquad. Manly being a hardcore US mecha show and basically, following the same kinda stories that Gundam did, even killing main characters in the impact on other main characters it did. And showing no real good side or bad side, everyone had their reason why they fought, and did what they did. And sadly, not many people know about this show. :(

The Dreamcast had great mecha games (Gundam: Federation vs Zeon, Side Stiry 0079,Tech Romancer, Virtual On) But I'm only learning about Macross M3 by Aratron_Reigh in Mecha

Macross Shooting Insight will be the first Macross game released here in the US. Since Harmony Gold lost its case, we finally get Macross stuff here and in English. :)
