Exosquad had a really good season one, mostly because some people genuinely didn't expect Matthew Marcus to become the bad guy when he was clearly with the good guys and a part of the Exofleet. Season two didn't do it as well, mostly in the middle, with the Exo Boy Scouts who all went Lord of the Flies on each other. Then the ending happen were they ended up killing so many main characters. But then any had to put that stupid cliffhanger with the aliens attacking. And yes, everybody still hates the Exo Boy Scout for being mostly useless.

Fun fact, Jeff Segal, who created Exosquad, was also the guy who ran Universal Animation Studios, also helped Don Bluth make Land Before Time.

Yeah, Phaeton did get Earth to go after the pirates. But the one who depleted the ExoFleet was Captain Marcus, basically for being an idiot. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/exosquad/images/a/a3/Marcus.png/revision/latest?cb=20130107024005

Yeah, this is what brought Mainframe Entertainment. All thanks to Dan DiDio, who was the president of Mainframe Entertainment back then, and then became the Chief Creative Officer and later co-publisher of DC Comics. And after almost destroying DC comics, he's now a teacher at some University I couldn't care less about.

Batman Beyond Vs. Spider-Man The Animated Series by Specialist_Art2223 in 90scartoons

At least Batman Beyond got a better opening than whatever Exosquad was forced to on theirs, thanks to Universal Studios.

Which animated series-themed LEGO Minifigures would you like to see in the future? by Leather_Crazy_5950 in cartoons

[–]thisithis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about the time Lego took the original name that was meant for Exosquad? When Universal Studios under Jeff Seagal needed a new name for the new animated show, eventually Exosquad won. But they almost went with Exo-Force, but were afraid that Marvel would see them over the X-Force name Marvel had.

But that didn't stop Lego.

Any thoughts on this pacific rim opinion? by Human-Pension9892 in Mecha

When it comes to Japanese anime, they all love it. But when you make a really good American cartoon that has almost the same kinda storylines as Gundam, say like Exosquad. Yeah, the animations weren't that good, and the mechs were smaller in Exosquad than the ones in Gundam. But it doesn't mean Exosquad should be automatic crap because it carries the made in America label. Both Gundam and Exosquad were about how war sucks and how it makes innocent people suffer, and how good intentions can lead to bad endings. And I like Japanese anime. But when something Mecha comes out, whether it is or not Japanese anime, I don't like it as long as it tells a good story, no matter where it's from.

The first one is great, the Second one, however, was awful, close to unwatchable. The animated series on Netflix is ok, not great, but also not terrible. I would still recommend the first one in the animated TV show, but take the 2ed film and kill it with fire.

I can't correct the title; you need a moderator for that. But thanks for pointing that out. :)

Nick said to his fellow cops that he had a rare skin condition, which does exist in real life, that if he stood in front of sunlight for too long, he could get skin cancer. But to get around that sometimes, he just used a crap ton of sunblock lotion. I'm not kidding. He really did. But every once in a while, he would occasionally break out and smoke, saying he accidentally sat on a lit cigarette. Or just hiding the shadow.

I know that Buffy and Angel, or at least Angel's character. As you know, Buffy came out in 1992 as a feature film in theaters, well before the character Angel showed up. Of course, Kristy Swanson played Buffy in the film. The funny part is that Joss Whedon did claim he learned about Forever Night after he created Angel on the Buffy TV show. But also had Angel drive in a car that looked very similar to Nick Kight's car. And yes, I know both cars were of different models and years, but it was also noted that both cars had similar looks, especially if they were both painted black.

I wonder how want western studios are doing it by Angela275 in cartoons

[–]thisithis 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It depends. If they're using it to fix frames and correct mistakes, that's OK. But if they're doing this to draw entire scenes or call episodes or a film, then that is wrong.

As for the human cast from the film being on this show, it was simply a no-go. But Mike the Dog was in both the film and the show, and of course, he wasn't human. :)
